Well, I'm just hoping this camera puts some positive spotlight on Red while not rendering my Epic Dragon at less value.

sounds like a different animal to me, to me this says entry level RED USERS, or like for me, Back up for smaller projects, with smaller budgets, same reliable product.
You might be onto something. Not a bad proposition...Thanks Jarred! Pretty interesting detail. hehe. Now imagine it's a prores-only camera, recording always 4k - downsampled from 6k.Just kidding.
Smart thinking - that is pretty much Micro 4/3.I said it in the other thread too, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Raven sensor was actually a result of using 8k VV sensors that do not pass QC. They could be cut up into four 4k sensors (three good, and the one bad quadrant removed) reducing costs all around and allowing RED to focus on one 8k fabrication line, whilst having a place for the chips to go if they don't pass.
If that is true, then this adds more weight to the speculation that the Raven is Micro 4/3.To recap so far here's what we know:
4K only
Dragon sensor

4K only
Dragon sensor
Metal housing with built-in microphone
WiFi
MiniMag SSD
Likely developed in conjunction with using the new 4.7" monitor and 120GB Mini Mag. Hopefully that will be a package deal.
Am I missing anything? This all is pretty exciting to me if, indeed, it is an entry-level cam.
Wasn't 120fps @4K and a non-changable mount confirmed too?To recap so far here's what we know:
