Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
It's been over a year since Red announced the RRX and there still aren't any available... Every time I call Red they claim that they have no idea and cannot give a timeframe estimate.
What's taking so long?
A few months ago, I ordered a Red Station card reader... it took a month to arrive...
Caldigit T3 12TB RAID
Anyone got a chance to use this yet? What are your thoughts?
I'm thinking about getting it, both for the speed and extra 4TB of storage than the typical 8TB G-RAID that I use.
Thanks!
Just got the new Sony PVM A-250 OLED and I thought I might share my initial thoughts....
I've had all the previous Sony OLEDs, and I must admit that I'm a big fan... I had the first PVM 2541 OLED, which I bought in August of 2012. Then I upgraded to the A-Series last May, 2013. Once I went...
I'm loving DaVinci Resolve 10... Great job BMD! I have one issue that may be a bug and the other are feature requests...
1. Node Tree Memory: Actually, this might just be a bug... When I shut down and restart Resolve, all the nodes in the node tree are scattered and unorganized. This eats up a...
Promise Pegauss 2 is now shipping with TB2... I heard mixed reviews about the Pegasus 1 due to the raid controller, if I remember well.
Wanted to know if anyone has any inside info on the internals in the new iteration and what are your thoughts...
To be more specific, will it be possible to...
I deleted the default Scratch Disk in Preferences Panel because I don't want my scratch disk to be located in the Documents folder, which is the default. So I deleted it and created a new one in my Media folder. I quit Resolve and restarted.
However, once I create a new project, instead of...
Wanted to get some opinions on working in Resolve from internal SSD storage...
With SSD now large enough to hold hundreds of GBs, and being as fast as they are, is it still necessary to work from external storage? If so, why?
I've been working on a Mac Pro from my internal SSD (512GB x2...
I keep coming across this issue on-set where clients and producers want me to match different brands, makes and models of uncalibrated field monitors for video village. However, these monitors are always from rental houses and are always out of whack one way or the other. If I get one looking...
FSi CM25 OLED... Has anyone seen this model in person? Or know of an reviews?
If so, how does it compare to other OLEDs, such as the Sony BVM/PVM?
I'm seriously considering this for color reference monitor.
Spent the past four hours comparing it to Resolve's native NR and I really like it so far. It's significantly better than Resolve's NR, in my opinion. Allowed up to 5 frames for Temporal Reduction. Still a little buggy though.
Also, best part is that I can forego the Full Version and stay in...
I'm still confused about this...
I use a Sony OLED PVM 2541A which I connect to my computer via Decklink or Ultra Studio Express, depending on where I am. If I understand correctly, my monitor is capable of displaying the "full 10 bit data range" as mentioned on page 266 in the October V10...
Just wanted to see what the best option would be between the GTX 780 and the GTX 690?
Also, I noticed that there is not an official GTX 780 for Mac yet, so is it even possible to use?
I'm on V10beta trying to get Resolve Live to work.
I'm feeding SDI 23.98 from Alexa to my Ultrastudio Express. I set the I/O settings in Resolve Preferences several different ways, several restarts. I updated all my BMD software and firmware... still no luck.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Just announced at IBC... looks nice and has a bunch of bells and whistles, at a price $13,500. I guess it's competing with the Sony BVM...
Saw a similar thread on another forum and thought it would be interesting to hear what Redusers think.
To get things started...
I've been using the Sapphire Plugin demo version so the past week. It's great, no complaints, but I have to wonder whether or not I'll really make use of its...
From what I understand, the NR feature is finally a good enough to do within Resolve 10. Up until now, NR not something I ever really do as I typically just pass it off to a Flame or AE artist.
So my question is, when doing Spatial NR, should one just put a window around whatever element of an...
What is the reason to use grey/white cards or color chip cards with Red cameras?
I mean, I always thought that the grey or white cards were used for white balancing, but with Raw files, white balance simply becomes metadata which can easily be adjusted in post.
As for color charts, what are...
I thought I'd put this in the Resolve section since it seems to be more active than the Scratch section...
My question is which software is better for dailies creation and why?
I'm currently a Resolve 9 user (full version, which isn't necessary for dailies since they're generally down-rezed...
