  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We just got our "shipping by the end of the week email"... too bad I'm about to go on holidays for 4 weeks... oh well, waited this long, it will be a nice little present for when I get back to work! :-)

Just wanted to say that I installed and back focused the mount this evening quite quickly and easily. I was going from Nikon mount to the Birger and the switch was very straight forward.

The functionality, to the point that the mount works without the knob etc., all seems to be just as one would hope.

Thanks again to Erik, Amy and everyone else involved for bringing this very hopeful product to market.

I think this was 3k 60fps on the 17-55 f 2.8. in Redcine. print screen function from redcine.. no s curve change.

PS does everyone have to go into redcine... open a file... it appears black. so you have to touch the color s curve?

Looks good. I bought that lens too. :-) Did you ND to get 2.8 or use the shutter?

RedCine doesn't show a black frame for me. It seems to work as advertised most of the time... but I mostly use Red Alert because it supports audio and has RedRushes.
 
Calling Ocean Graphics :

I've had 2 phone calls today from fed-ex asking for my VAT number. They say a package is waiting at the airport to be cleared. Which is odd because I was told earlier that it's on the truck for delivery.... Turns out this other package waiting at customs it's for ocean graphics, which is not me.

After some confusion, I'm assured my parcel is also on its way to me today, but they cannot get in touch with Ocean Graphics as my tel number has been put down instead of theirs. 2 birger mounts but only 1 number...

So, if you are Ocean Graphics give fed-ex a call because they cannot get in touch with you, and give them your VAT number so it can clear customs :-)

H20, is that you? that was my first guess.

How much are you getting taxed besides VAT? Did you or Birger give FedEx a specific TARIC code for the mount?

Good to know some of the mounts have finally made their way over the pond! :)

I thought at first they had just got the packages mixed up, but looks like mine was already cleared as they have got my VAT number from previous transactions. So your parcel may not be delivered till tomorrow as its still at stansted. saying that mine hasnt turned up yet either... :-(

Steven - no idea on duty yet, I guess I'll find out when they send the paperwork.

As for duty, when I last imported 2x RED Nikon mounts (approx $1100 in value, working from memory, duty + VAT was approx £170 ... as we all know, it's a dark science, so we await the next guestimate from C_&_E !?

David, I am very sorry for this mistake with the phone numbers. Though things are starting to go much more smoothly, we probably still have a few mistakes left in us.

We use 9006910000 "parts and accessories for cameras" as a default. If anybody knows of a code that is reasonable and has a lower traiff, email or PM me.

no worries Erik, I've never had a smooth customs transaction so I've grown used to Customs delay. As for what they charge, that seems to be an art / variable depending on who processes the shipment ! Until later ...

Mike, what Color and Gamma space are you viewing these at? They look a bit flat (no contrast), and a tad grainy for daylight shots at f2.8. Which could be the case if viewed at CameraRGB, and RedLog, etc.

RedCine can be a little weird sometimes in what it shows. Generally, with the latest versions though, it should be pretty close to what you saw on camera. Make sure you have the latest version, for sure. If you are viewing CameraRGB or RedLog, you will definitely have to apply some s-curve to pretty up the picture (but you'll have the most leg room to play).
