  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDRAY Comments

Will there be a way to preview a movie before choosing it? Trailer, I suppose . Or perhaps a movie theater could be allowed a 1080 preview version before deciding. I assume only theaters that install RedRay projectors will be able to participate? Sort of like a book of titles to choose from. The neighborhood theater is alive.

I think that leaves the marketing responsibility in your hands. You have to reach your audience.

I am happy for REDRAY Players release. This sounds great for all the indie movies which can be distribute directly through ODEMAX, but what about the major motion picture movies/studios? Are they supporting this? Will we see major motion movies through ODEMAX in 4k soon?

1) 30% cut for Odemax.. 70% for the content producer. Inside your account, you can set up how that 70% is distributed... you can actually have the backend do that breakdown for you.

2) Every One, or Every Studio or Every Business can open a channel and there is no approval process.. We believe nobody should be a gate keeper on what you put out there... as long as it is not illegal.

3) You can limit to territories, you can limit to certain players, certain users, play once, play many, play forever. All decided by the producer of the content.

Q/A time.

- yes locally. You can fill the internal 1TB drive up locally with whatever .RED files you want, or use an external SD card, USB Thumbdrive, or USB drive . ODEMAX is when you want to distribute.

- Crimson is the big badass Theatrical projector for the really big screens. REDRAY projector is for the smaller screens.

Ah. Little confusion. What I meant by locally was playing the .RED file back on a local computer to check your master before you publish it to ODEMAX for instance. I guess asking if a .RED codec for playback is in the works. Decoding.

Every step you've revealed so far has been perfect. I think you've just made the Indie movie maker king of his or her own destiny. I also think you may have made a lot of studio movie makers into Indie movie makers. '-)

Any chance of DCI compliant DCP playback for cinemas if the future? Would love to see the cartel like pricing of DCP servers from Dolby/GDC/Doreimi get blown up much like you guys did with the Red One on the camera side.

Now how will this get into the hands of the big cinema chains? Ok for one - it's damn cheap! But the rest?

Does 3D work with every projection system out there?

Will there be a REDRAY pro or isn't there any need for it? (Don't know if a big theater would be missing anything)
 
Odemax charges 30% of each DRM transaction and delivery of content to the home. A Channel Owner is NOT charged for their venue, sales or management tools. Only on what you sell. In the case of Theatrical Delivery, Odemax offers a no bull breakdown. 50% to Channel Owner, 30% to Theater Owner, 20% to Odemax. Odemax is compatible with existing point-of-sale Box Office ticketing software and services. Theatrical Sales reports are delivered directly to the Channel Owner/Distributor, hourly, daily, and week ending.

All you need is a 4K movie, and even if your film is in process, we'll take a 4K trailer for up to 30 days prior to actually receiving your REDray feature master file.

As Jarred said, you can limit to a specific player or number of players. As long as the End User (Home or Theatrical) account has those players linked to the account.
 
I can see these REDRAY boxes in high end hotel rooms as well. ODEMAX bills the hotel and the hotel bills the customer.
