Its not for insert coin again in the game but for European users, as the groupbuy was worldwide, it was illegal to buy it ?

Yes, as sometimes Americans forget, the world is much much bigger than the USA!

I'm neither in Europe or the USA, but a New Zealand, a small country easily forgotten even on some maps :-o

guys chill out and buy longer BNC cables :D

but yeah its funny to me to how the US thinks its the world like how they call NBA a world championship :D

Longer BNC cables are always a handy thing to have!

You never know when what mystical magical forces (or simple bad luck) might stop your wireless from working.

I disagreed.
To be happy in this world, 1st you need a cell phone, 2nd you need an airplane and 3rd you need wireless HD-SDI. Then you're truly wireless.

The moderator was Jarred himself. Everybody has communicated with everybody within a few hours of all that happened. I agree the general order of operations here wasn't great, but again, there legal issues at play here. Protecting REDuser and the members of REDuser is a high priority in these situations. Sometimes that requires swift action. Especially when things happen late at night.

I'm happy to hear that, but, why aren't the forums using HTTPS?

Either way, I'm looking forward to the next group buy for a wireless video system.

Phil, I know what it's like to be on call for a tech company, and those 2 am wakeup calls are never fun. Thank you, for trying to do what's best for the REDuser community.

When corporations start to enforce laws in a way that it benefits themselves, instead of the consumers, then we have gone from a Democracy to a Corprocracy. It seems like we have arrived there...
America has been there for a while now, corporations own
the government.

Hi Mike,
I work for Vaxis for a long time.
We realized Teradek sell Bolt 800 to China market without CCC certificated, and displayed products at Beijing BIRTV show in 2018, for more, please check link below:

Secondly, after Vaxis group buy forcibly removed, Teradek open up new Group buy by Phil, our team always doing best to provide good services and quality products, justice and equity means a lot to us.

There are many barriers for us to entry into the US market. here, I thank all Vaxis users and supporters whom trusting us and always standing by our side.

Regards,
Julie

I'll allow my geek side to quote a relevant sentiment:

"I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from."

Is your Vaxis Thor 800+ product certified in Europe?
I was looking at Teradek only before this thread. I'm now interested in your products also.

Thanks

Pat

wow, this is pretty crazy and we definitely, as readers, dont know the half of what went here on im sure.

I think the whole thing would of went away quietly if whoever deleted the GB post, just contacted Travis, out of professionalism and respect, and explained to him what was going on and we are sorry but we have to delete the thread. That would of also given travis a chance to save his information and proceed else where or in the future. He also would never of had to write this follow up post literally asking the question that has brought on all this.
Sounds like he got taken care of in some way by Teredek though, cause that was a real easy flop over to be like it's dead and no worries after stating how hard he worked on this. I get he was deserved something because of the way he was treated. Though im sure he has to send out something positive to the readers and followers of the Vaxis GB to receive it.

Secondly, i think at least some people, not me, i dont care, need some transparency on this one. we arent getting the full facts, and maybe because it's too embarrassing.
looks like anyway that someone at Teredek was worried, maybe about their job, and since they are a sponsor for red they conveyed all this "it's illegal" stuff and if you dont take it down then you are compliant too. i guess it's all about scare tactics these days.
Now according to Vaxis, Teredek was doing the same thing the opposite way, selling in china before they were approved to.

but ill tell you what, this stuff has been going on for as long as the industry has been going on. i remember some huge camera houses having chinese made block batteries for film cameras that were rehoused under their own name, and they would fail all the time, and the list goes on...it's just how it is.
As well, Terdek has the professional industry wrapped around it's finger. you cant work on big sets and bring a vaxis into play when the VTR has all Teredek, or the pursuit arm comes with Teredek. I think teredek should let Vaxis have the smaller indie market in my opinion.

Lastly, Ive always wondered this, especially in these days of major influencers getting paid to promote or to review.
Phil, are you on the payroll at either RED or Teredek or somewhere else? it's just that you happen to say "we" a lot from an employee point of view. I have no problem if you are, it's just that you should have to disclose it if you are reviewing products. If you are not, and doing all this research and outreach from the goodness of your heart, then you are a hero my friend. If so, still amazing work! i think we should know though.

1. The thread was deleted by Jarred who owes none of us a full accounting of anything. His forum / his rules.

2. TD more than likely has a defensible position by way of IP / Patents / Licensing with the core technology. It is their right to defend what is theirs. If they just are using their size and legal might to bully an upstart then that is another thing of course. My guess it that they have a solid case and that's why they were acquired by Vitec. Vaxis has had the opportunity to rebut TD claims of FCC compliance etc but has chosen not to.

3. The goal of capitalism / corporations is to have a monopoly. Patents help can help this fact. Terradek / Vitec has no exclusive on this approach

4. My guess is that Phil is not directly compensated as an RED employee, instead he gets well earned perks. This whole subject of Internet Influencers is worth a full discussion on another thread.

It's hard to feel sorry a Chinese company having difficulty accessing an American market. China has abused their obligations since becoming a full member of the WTO. Try to sell your product or service into China and see how that goes. Ha! Boeing had to give the Chinese government full blueprints to their factories, processes and build planes over there in order to fly passenger routes. "Teach us how to build aerospace vehicles or no fly in our country"

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/business/2017-03/13/content_28536073.htm

Edit:
In China you don't just sell American products like airplanes into their market. You are forced into a "Joint Venture" so they can learn your craft then kick you to the curb once they can go it alone. In the case of Boeing - American is transferring a century of Aero Space IP, which can easily be re-purposed into military applications. Can't see anything wrong with that.

Yeah so, cry me a river Vaxis

1. The thread was deleted by Jarred who owes none of us a full accounting of anything. His forum / his rules. You sound like you've been hanging with Trump a lot lately. Sure, his forum / his rules, howevere, this forum has been built on transparency and as soon as you begin doing shit like this I for one will question every motive from now on.

"TD more than likely has a defensible position" sounds totally speculative with no facts what so ever. Without all the information you and I are left to assume. I also have no clue what this case and being acquired by Vitec have anything to do with eachother? Vitec is just eating up any company that fits in their customer base.

3. The goal of capitalism / corporations is to have a monopoly. Patents help can help this fact. Terradek / Vitec has no exclusive on this approach. No idea what your point is with this? Neither Terradek nor Vitec own the IP that is the center of this entire situation. Terradek took it upon themselves to defend another Amimon IP.

4. My guess is that Phil is not directly compensated as an RED employee, instead he gets well earned perks. This whole subject of Internet Influencers is worth a full discussion on another thread. Again, with your guesses and assumptions. Phil is definitely an employee/consultant of Hydrogen which till recently was a subsiderary of RED. Even if he isn't, you can't "earn perks" etc and be an impartial person when offering your thoughts on products etc. If he is being compensated by perks, money or both than it should be crystal clear so when he offers his opinion on any subject we know that it could be biased.

"Teach us how to build aerospace vehicles or no fly in our country" Source? The link you provided mentions nothing about any of this besides an announcement of a partnership. Even if it did, no one put a gun to Boeings head and forced them to do this. Also, since when did we stoop to China's level? You really sound a lot like the current administration.

Zeb, your post makes some assumptions about Teradek being in the right / Vaxis in the wrong, and shows a regional bias. You're definitely entitled to your opinions, but I don't think we have enough information to draw a conclusion either way in this case. It's possible that Vaxis is an honorable company irrespective of where they are located, and the Chinese government's various trade strategies... There are many who would offer similarly critical comments on US trade strategies today, but I don't think either of those are relevant to this discussion.

Personally, I hope that both Teradeck and Vaxis keep innovating on both features and price. I'm excited about the upcoming DSMC2 wireless video module from Teradeck, even though they're doing a terrible job of keeping us updated. I'm also excited about the features, value and quality that Vaxis seem to be delivering with each successive release.

There is room in the market for both companies - and the competition is good for us all. In this case, one or both companies have behaved badly, we just don't have enough information to pass judgment.

Yeah, you both say I’m making assumptions. No shit. Let’s have your facts then. RU and Jarred owe us nothing and this Pollyanna world of complete transparency and infinite knowledge does not exist . . . anywhere.
