  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who ordered EPIC stage 2? Let's try and count?

It'll be a while for me

Yeah, we all know that there are a lot more, but we can see the pace and average out by percentage how quickly it's moving up the serial numbers

My guess is there are probably 6 times as many stage 2 participants than presented here.

I'm skeptical of your 6x number for stage 2. With the short period of time and the way the economy was at the time of the $5000 deposit, I think a lot of people that would normally have wanted to were a little tight and decided to just wait for stage 3.

Also remember that when RedOnes first started shipping the economy was fine and house prices were still going up so there was a lot of easy money around - home refinance and equity lines. Now, and last year when the deposit was due, a lot of people are upside down and many have had their home equity lines canceled even if they have excellent credit, and with a lot of economic uncertainty it wasn't as easy for a lot of R1 owners to just write a $5000 check.

My guess is the real number of stage 2s is only about 2X what is posted here. Virtually all of the others will figure out a way to do stage 3 though - it is just too good a deal to pass up.

Got the "Ready to ship" - email. Waiting for a FedEx Number. Hope the German customs office does not do its usual thing and takes a week deceiding if its an animal, a plant or a camera....

Jochen (#74 on this list) .... extremly enthusiastic!

Thanks so much for the update, and when you get your EPIC let us know what your serial number is PLEASE...thanks again

Congratulations! Mine should also be shipped hopefully today ;-) So I can take this beautiful piece of technique with me to a shooting on Lanzarote on friday. If not... uahhhhh...

I hope you're right since it means I'll get my stage 2 in a few weeks! Would love that.

810 stage 2.

I would find that hard to believe. If there is such a cash shortage hiw would you explain 1200 M sales at 2x the price. It doesn't compute.

Anyhow. Im too exited about how fast it's moving to worry about this stuff.

I can't read the text with those dark colors. The older red was easy to read. The dark read is not, at least against the gray background. Same for green, a lighter green would work better.

EDIT: The orangish color is easier to read.
EDIT2: The blue is worse than the orangish color. :)

You're obviously not colorblind. Or maybe you are, but with a different deficiency than me. But that red type on gray background is almost impossible to read. The black on gray or white on gray are the easiest.

Different types of customers for M, as opposed to early R1 adopters. I'm guessing half of the M customers were people that didn't own a Red!. A great many serious people, of the type where financing isn't really an issue, held back on R1 for a lot of reasons.

Also, the higher the R1 serial number, I think the less likely to stage 2 since the expected ramp up in production would mean the relative waiting time would be shorter.

But in the end it is just a guess.

Got a knock on the door this morning from FedEx with a package from RED... I was so excited, I could hardly contain myself. Alas, it was just my backordered DSMC shoulder pad and not my Epic. Haha!

Keep working hard guys, I know the demand is massive and the floodgates haven't even begun to open yet. Everyone appreciates all that you do!

I have a feeling that Stage 2 is not such a long list...many people did not see the Stage 2 deal, many did not go for it, the stage 3 deal seemed like a great deal, de number 10.500 usd was a catchy number, I remember thinking about it, but really not wanting to let go of my RED One....in the end I chose stage 2...and I think it was the best choice, but many went for stage 3, and I think many just did not see the stages program at all...but this is just my opinion

Antonio, mine hasnt shipped yet. I'm really hoping for today. I'll let you guys know once I have it.

So there were some 28 cameras shown in the original pic Jarred posted, and Shawn still hasn't had his shipped. I'm guessing then that the order processing is the big back up right now if that is the case.

I swear Dino said he got his so maybe its processed it's just back logged and being sent with the next batch? Considering Shawn is before Dino i suppose they made an exception since Dino needed his ASAP

here's hoping they aren't waiting until each customer gets their payment in before moving on to the next one, for some silly reason like getting camera numbers in sequence or something. If that's the case, skip ahead (my money is already on account) and send me one with x-ed out numbers or just underline dashes where the number should be. September is half over and there are very few cameras actually shipped... or so it would seem.

And before someone suggests patience on my part, just know that I subscribe to the renegade buzzard theory of, rather than waiting for something to die to have a meal, I say f**k it! Let's kill something.

I would be careful jumping to any conclusions here.. there are a lot of variables at play on who gets what when and how quickly.

Hi Jarred, thanks, we know, or at least I know, it is just a way of knowing how fast things are moving...that's all...and I hope all that are participating in this thread know and understand this.
It is fun too.

Thanks for everything Jarred.
