  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

I'm waiting for a Nikon-based Scarlett package, but how long is it going to take to hand-build 1,000 cameras; or 2,000 cameras? I feel it will be a long time until everyone gets there pre-ordered Scarletts and other package options are available. :mellow:

Well, earlier in the thread someone computed that Red can make somewhat over 300 epics a week. So, less than a month for 1000, and maybe a month and a half for 2000. That's ignoring orders for the epic, and any items (side handle?) that might be causing a backlog...

Plus, we don't know for how long they've been producing the scarlet-X already. I'm sure they predicted SOME demand ahead of time? Also, orders seem to start at 800.. so you may not be as far in the queue as you think...

A similar thing happened to us except luckily our Bomb Squad guy called us back and we placed our order immediately. The last 4 digits of our order number is 0757 and I believe we put our order in around 1:30am ET
 
Are these your email numbers, or the SO number listed in your Red.com order history? The only one that matters is the SO number.

Best idea is to get your order in before the price goes up at the end of year and go with either the canon or PL mount... as the other mount options will not be ready in package/upgrade form till after the new year.. given the price increase, you end up paying less for two mounts and get your camera sooner than you would if you waited to buy a brain with just a Nikon or Leica-M mount.

I gotta say I'm really impressed with Gavin's graphs, is it plotting the rise of the share market, is it showing ICBM (missile) trajectories, is it modelling heat co-efficents, no its plotting Scarlet X order times. Good on you Gavin great work . Laughed my head off about your comments a couple of pages back about trying to plot a rant onto you graph !

I believe he also tweeted this "that's not release ship date. That is backordered rumour ship date" It seems that might mean if we ordered it at release it should be fine? Who knows...
 
I'm not sure I believe that given it hasn't even been a full week (Ahh last thursday seems like a lifetime ago) since they started accepting orders. My attitude it gets hear when it gets hear in the mean time I got stuff to do i.e not making any plans with Scarlet until its in my hands & after a whole of tests,

Well I wish RED would atleast shoot down the rumor. I'm sure we're fine if we ordered the first night. And I'd love a RED. I've already invest a good chunk in it. That would totally be a different story if it were going to be 2-3 months after December 1st that my camera shipped.

eluding orders placed today and beyond being backordered to June 2012. I never said that was the ship date.

I ordered mine around 9PM on that Nov. 3rd night on red.com but I did not get a call back yet from bomb squad/red. Has anyone else got a call back from the Bomb Squad rep? I think they're supposed to confirm the order with a callback.
