  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

asked my rep if i could pick mine up in person(when ready) and that is a go. Fingers crossed that its soon as I'm 50872 and attended the nov 3rd event. The big question is: are these Canon Al mounts are ready?

Ah ok I got it. Well in that case I'll be very happy with the 9th being my day :) for fun.

Just hope my brooks apu plate is here by then. Thats a mystery over at VF.
 
Mine was 51079, orderedn around 8PM if I remember correctly.

However, just went back to check and found my order listed as "cancelled". Deposit paid up already.

Emailed our rep to see what the deuce is going on...... but looks like numbers may have moved forward by one.....grrrrrrrrr.

Jarred has stated that they'd be pre-releasing a few Scarlets before Dec 1, and ramping up to full production during the process. They've said to expect many more to go out the door each day after Thursday.

I could see that happening. But it is hard to know how many are truly out there, RED themselves said not everyone is on RU. And hopefully they ramp up shortly after the 1st.
 
I'm actually pretty relaxed.
TI PL Scarlets are shipping. We have no given known reason to fear December 1st isn't looking on track. Do we?
They're showing new ramped up production work lines. Jim is clearly determined to end being an in back order company.
Everything seems to be going great doesn't it?

The major fear seems to be that reps aren't contacting some people to take payments from what I can tell. But once you know your orders in, which you do as soon as you have an SO. Why do we think a flat out rep will be contacting us, except if your ticket is almost up and it's time to take your money because they are shipping out your camera?

I fee like I must be missing something here? RED back order history, playing havoc with everyones psyche?

SUrely no point sweating what you can't effect the outcome of is there?

I think it's just the calm before the storm, Liam.
There was so much activity on the boards leading up to and including November 3rd...and then it's steadily gotten quieter, mainly due to the fact that (like you were getting at) there isn't much left to discuss until the cameras are in our hands...
Add to that the fact that the RED Team is swamped trying to get the orders out the door, and it means there are less posts from RED Team members as well.

I think it's just how quiet its gotten that is raising the anxiety level.
Give it a couple of days and it'll get loud again.

awesome thx guys I've been MIA for a couple days. Great news!

seems like everyone in Austin has their Stage 2 Epic. All the Stage 3 guys are in the works.

if the accessories are limited I may have to borrow from the community here ;)

I've got a few projects lined up and a crew anxious to shoot!

Well I was at the Hollywood event, so must be fairly high up the list, and I haven't been contacted for payment yet.
I'm suspecting a problem with the Al Canon mount, because everyone who was at the event who ordered Ti PL must have already got theirs. (Although since 0006 went to someone not at the event, it suggests pretty much no-one there ordered Ti PL!)
 
If anything the problem with December will be the fact that the month has basically 2 sets of holidays, christmas and new years. This is where the problem for most will come is that you could be on the edge of getting your Scarlet and christmas hits. The best thing being that in January I think a whole horde of Scarlets will go out, clearing a lot of the backlog and getting them back on track quite quickly, so we may see a trickle during December but an insane amount in the first few weeks of January, then back to normal...

Of course they could send a lot out in December and i guess post could hold it...not sure if they deliver during christmas?

Really hope though RED announces something just before or after christmas day...like a surprise of some sort...even before new years...exciting as always... (Cant remember but I think they did it in 2009/2008?as a teaser to Scarlet/EPIC)

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere they won't contact you. Just charge you to the card that you used for your deposit. I could be wrong, but I could've sworn I read that. I just put money in my account and pretty much expect it to ship.

My rep sent me an e-mail last night asking if I wanted to use the $10k I wired into my account to pay for the Scarlet. Brian is the best <3 <3 <3

Ok, cleared up my order fiasco.

Seems my rep managed to put in an earlier order for me than the one I made via the web and then cancelled mine.

My SO is now 100 less! 50979.

Joy. But, no word on shipping yet. :(
 
Im hoping I get my email soon about my Scarlet. Im 0953, ti pl mount and as far as the spread sheet says, no one has a pl between Brandon and Myself, so hopefully I should be one and the next ones and real soon!

Can not wait to take it out and test it! Im going to spend all day shooting when I get it!
