  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I was under the impression that all the primes were intended to be the same price, aside from the 300mm. Was that only true for the initial set of RPPs?

Not complaining, as I understand additional time went into the design/manufacturing of the 18mm. Just curious.

Yeah i'm a little confused to, pricing as $3800 for owners of the RPP set and $4250 for non owners was a announced a long time ago. Of course they can always change it whenever I'm still just hoping for $3800 :-)

Count me in for a 18mm (metric) and a 14mm, 135mm and 180mm in the future, i woudl also go for the 65mm but i´d prefer the 14mm and 135mm first.

I think we can rest assured in regard of pricing, Red never let us down in this field.

I just love my RPP´s and had them at a large and well esttablished Rental House on Tuesday, the lens tech there couldn´t believe his eyes :)

Since that announcement we spent a huge amount of dollars on accelerated re-development, and in turn made a much better lens optically in a smaller package ( a small miracle ) than originally planned, and that simply costs a bit more.

Don't get too excited though... nothing has changed yet, and if things do change, we will try and balance things in favor of RPP set owners.

That's what I like to hear, since I now have the full (current) set of primes and an 18-50.

For the moment I'm keeping the 18-50 to both cover the wider end of the range, and to have a lightweight/steadicam lens.

Not best possible solution, yeah, but it is what I've got for now.

Hopefully looking to sell the 18-50 and pick up the prime.

Anybody know what Red 18-50s are going for? This one has been used for about 3 days of my doodling and then sat on the rental shelf for over a year, no kidding.

I asked this before but i'm asking it again. It's ok to mount these lenses unsuported on the RED mount. It can hold the lenses without any problems yes ?

$3800 for set owners ( Merry Xmas Shawn :) )

$4750 individual price.
 
Will the 18mm be available as a part of a set? Or do you have to buy the original prime set and purchase the 18 as an extra like the 300?
 
you add the 18mm onto the set in your cart, but you get it for the set price.
 
Thank you for the $3800 price!

My wallet is saying Bah Humbug! to most everything right now, but this one is a must-buy. :)
