Hello everybody,
I use sometime my red one at 2k 120 fps, but with the crop factor, my lens are not enough wide or not enough open.
What lens do you use when you shoot at 120 fps?

If you have EF mount I've had good luck with the Zeiss ZE 21mm 2.8 and 15mm 2.8.

edit: They also come in Nikon. The focus throw on the 15mm is horrible though, especially at that crop factor.

I have Nikon mount. Thank you for your advice :-) But when I shoot at 2k, open at 2.8, with a shutter at 240, I have sometimes not enough light...
I think of using C-mount lens. Does anyone have tried to use this kind of lenses with a Red One?

I've shot 120 fps 1kWS on the Scarlet for a job... Tabletop & shot everything on either a 50mm RPP or an 85mm RPP, iris was never more open than 4, and shutter was always at 90º - guess what? I lit the shot, sometimes more light is the answer...

If I'm running prime I toss on a 14/2.8 or a 35/1.4 - for zoom I have a 24-70/2.8

All of these have worked great for me but I agree with Glen. If you are shooting that high of frame rate, you really need to light it. I've done 2.8 in dire situation once, but I'd prefer to stay around 4/5.6 or even 8 when I can.

C-mount unfortunately won't work, the flange focal distance (i.e. distance of mount to film plane/sensor) is way too small to be adapted for the Red. It's a pity because there are some really cool lenses around in C-mount...

Thank you for the information.
Is there lens for S16 camera mountable on the Red One MX?

Yeah - any of the PL mount (or bayonet mount converted to PL) Arri, Zeiss, Schneider lenses work. I have a couple sets of Schneider 16mm bayonets that have been converted - there are a few good sets out there.

Yes I would do what Glen says.
IF shooting 2k then find the sharpest / fastest S16 PL lens you can find. They resolve better than normal s35 lenses as their image circle is smaller and you can get better speed from them.
