Urgh, man that sucks! That picture finally made me decide to build a plexiglass box for my CNC once it's done.

Well, you have to do that. Mine is an industrial machine and you have to hit the door override on the control to even have it operate with the door open.

I wasn't being totally careless, but I in manual it was a three step process to raise the spindle, shut off the coolant and stop the spindle and since it is pretty quiet you don't even know it is running. I was distracted between step two and three and... ouch. Unfortunately they can't protect you from everything.
