  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can the ActionProducts RaidRack be used to mount the receiver?

Absolutely - that's exactly what I've done:

That works also as seen above but it lives you with a knob from the inside, and the antenanot upwrite.I have designed mine so you can tide from the outside taking no space and in a way antena is upwrite .also supported with 2 screws in both points.
Plus its more expensive.
Totally your choice:cheers2:

Yes, but it is - IMHO - more versatile as it can be rotated 180 degrees and has multiple purposes. Wasn't a fan of the RaidRack in the beginning, but it's actually pretty cool for a lot of purposes. The knob on the inside really isn't a problem, but hey - more choices for everyone is good.

As I said , supported in one point and having the reciever in a possition that the antena is upwrite the wires are coming from the side and can rotate the reciever unless you tide it up a lot , something I wouldnt recoment for plastic versus metal.
Depenting where you mount this the knob can be a problem in some possitions.
but I agree that the AP is made for more uses.
I just prefer to have the exact parts for some gear.
Thanks Tony:001_tt2:

I think you'd be doing yourself a big favor if you design your mount so that the receiver can be turned around 360 degrees and be used for other purposes other than for the VF receiver. You'd be able to sell more of them, which would keep the price down :-)

So after Tony s sugestion I have decided to design a multi bracket that can support

1- VF - RECIEVER
2- VF - IMPERO TRANSMITER
3- RED HDD- RAID RACK
4- RED QUIK PLATE
5-RED LCD

for those customers that already bought the VF MOUNT no additional charge and I will deliver the new brack .
For new customers a small increase in price.
I will update untill tomorrow
I will deliver in the same time table as promised.
First bunch 2-3 weeks time.
Thank you all

Sounds good, Constantine - but show some respect and try not to rip off Goff's design and make it your own. I'm personally not a big fan of using the RaidRack with drives (I use the ET drive mounts) but bought them because they're pretty versatile for all sorts of mounting and because I had a couple of clients ask for them ;-) Looking forward to some more renders.

As you can see from my rigs I never rip off people designs, quite the opposite I would say,and this is something that is costing me a lot, the brack is totally different in design.
please dont address this in advance.
After all its just a bracket not an invation of the weel.
Cheers

Hello Brigham...I dont quite get what you mean, I have decided to keep mine and wait for the upgrade motor, if that is the case.I like the VF as long as it delivers what promised to have by purcusing it.
Either way the brack is not only for VF stuff..
Cheers

Sorry - that came out a little wrong. I really wasn't saying you're ripping off designs at all - it was just a friendly reminder based on the render you sent me that looked a little too much like the RaidRack ;-) That said - if you can make it so that it's freely adjustable... maybe something like this:

Meant nothing by it...just me rumbling about not getting my FF yet, let alone buying accessories for it...

So gentleman, I have decided to make this bracket to support

1- VF reciever in to points at 90 ,180, 270 ,degrees.
2- VF transmiter impero at any of the 4 1/4 taps
3- raid HDD supported with 2 M3 Screws and a specially made T-channel and rubber in between.

Other than that you can mount any accessory that has 1/4 threading of your choice.
Here is the final design.

Price is 80 euro

Also attached is the new bracket system to support the quik battery plate with solid gripping and fits on the top or bottom 19 mm rods of your R1.
you can rotate this bracket at any tilt angle you like.

Price is 180 euro.
I will be releasing it on my website tomorrow.

This thread turned unusually quiet lately!

No complaints? No questions? No anger towards Curt?

Is it because everybody is finally getting their FFs? What's the backorder status?

Still waiting for my second RMA...

Waiting since months for my refund...do you really think there is enough headroom in such a company for getting this product finally out?:emote_headwall::biggrinjester:
BTW I believed a long time in Curt´s FF, but the weak customer support, he´s resistance to e-mails, killed my hope for a good technical support in the future.
Not happy at all,
Marc
