Is there a limit to the cable length if I were to use an Origo cable?

I thought I remember seeing somewhere where you said cables over 4 ft. were not recommended.
Greater than 10 ft is not recommended on the Inclinos/imperos. Origos are Ok though, we have run up to 200 ft without problems. The problem with running the mogami cables on the Inclinos is that the wire is not twisted pair for the CANH and CANL lines. That picks up a bunch of interference as the length increases and as a result the motors may not function correctly. That said I have run an inclino on a 100 ft cable and it seemed to work ok.

Thanks. I was thinking about using my 2.5 ft coiled cable if I need to run the Impero in wired mode. That cable is probably almost 10 ft uncoiled, but I don't have it here to measure it.

I will test as soon as I get my RED primes. Just sold my Zeiss ZFs so I have no lenses to test at the moment :-)

Erik has begun emailing customers with regard to closing out Impero sales for birger mounts. The estimate is 5-10 days before shipping.

Any more holds?

Any more holds?

I have been out of the loop for a while and can't get a real straight sense. Is there something else holding up shipping? Are people getting shipping info? If you have gotten shipping info please sound off. If you know what the hold is please let the rest of us (or just me, sometimes I'm not so bright) what is going on. Thank you for your support. :cheers2:

Benjamin, got an e-mail from Amy 2 days ago saying that they are expecting to ship the remaining backordered units in 5-10 days - I've got more than fingers crossed on this one!!!:hurray:

From Birger or Viewfactor?

From Birger or Viewfactor?

Sorry to bother you even more Joe (thanks for the info by the way). Did you get that from Amy at Birger or Amy at Viewfactor? I don't know the names of people at either place. I am sure the Amy at both places is a beautiful, smart, funny girl/women (whichever she likes best) but the source is important to me as I am just dealing with Viewfactor. Thanks again. :emote_head_explode:
This is how my head feels almost every day. I should get that looked at...

I am #16 or so on the impero/inclino, and haven't heard or received anything yet.

Sorry for the false alarm Benjamin - thought I was on the Birger Reservations thread when I read your post. So I meant Amy at Birger and that delivery info is related to Impero only I'm afraid.

best

Curt:

I came across a post on the viewfactor forum from 2007 (and an associated post on this forum: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1059) where you proposed an ultrasonic distance sensor that could be tied into the Inclino/Impero setup. Any progress on this? I think its beyond a fantastic idea. I think it could revolutionize filmmaking, especially if its affordable and can by used in either a manual mode or an autofocus mode (much like the C-motion system, or the Cinetape in combination with the Arri system).

I know that you are busy making my Inclino/Impero, but I am looking down the road? Thoughts? Thanks

its shipping

its shipping

I just recieved my Tracking numbers for shipping, so the Inclino and Imperos are starting to go out the door of Viewfactor. Its due Monday and I will let you all know how it goes. I am in the first ten orders (just so you know the shipping progress)

The long wait seems to be over so I would like to thank Curt and all at Viewfactor for all their hard work producing the follow focus !

Cheers, Tim.
