So have I received an immature version?
This is what I wrote Curt a few days and still didn't get a response.
Hi Curt
Finally I found some time to come back to your DFF.
The only thing that seems to work is the CALIBRATING function.
The beep is not really a beep but some kind of click sound.
The SET ADDR doesn't do anything.
I press CAL and it does define the limits of the lens
I press LENS LIMIT and nothing happens, I mean it doesn't beep, not I control the lens in anyway to set it.
I am not going further to any of the buttons and lights there are there since the basic doesn't work.
Also when you turn it off and on you have to calibrate it from start like nothing was previously done.
Was it suppose to be that way?

Curt did respond:
David,

Read the manual here: http://viewfactor.net/downloads/DFF_Manual_1.2.pdf
The Lens limits and knob limits are not enabled yet. Calibration information is not currently saved after power cycling.

SET ADDR is only used to address the motors (when there is more than one motor). You press and hold it to change the motor from a focus to zoom, or zoom to iris etc. If you only have one motor there is no reason to use it.

There are some other issues that we are still working on. I'm trying to get the motors shipping and then I will release an update to address all these issues.

Regards,
Curt

Shipped a few more units yesterday. The Drive train is working well and I am very happy with the noise levels and speed. We are going to be shipping several more units today. We'll get the volumes up to 10-20/day soon.

I asked before without any answer. Do you know if I can use my Origo Lemo cables with the Impero/Birger unit?

Thanks,

Ivan C.

Origo cables are ok with the Impero and Inclino but not the Birger. Erik uses a cross-over design which flips pins 3 and 4.

Very good to know the cable limitations.

Wonderful products (at a remarkable price point) from both companies - many thanks.

Yeah - great stuff Curt and Erik.

On a related issue, my Origo is beeping all the time these days. . .

I've tried shutting it off, but it still keeps beeping. What in the heck is the reason for the beeps, and is there any effective way to kill them?

Thanks.

Stephen

Exact same story for me, too, Larry. I really like the trigger and the visible battery indicator, but beeping during takes is obviously unacceptable. If there's a way to kill the beeper, I'd be very happy.

Curt?
