Is it a 24" apple display you are using, and is it connected directly to the camera?

i wanna know this one too! how do you connect your RED to the new 24" apple display? it'even impossible to connect it to a Mac Pro because of the new port, is it?

I've used the C-motion on a few occasions and wasn't impressed considering what it costs.

I was shocked to see that the bells and whistles setup of C-Motion comes at 62.643 US $ - dear baby Jesus!!! Who on earth is gonna buy that???
 
I'd say it looks like it's been put on afterwards. The position of the numbers doesn't make much sense.

The numbers are real, the position is the position determined by RED and same as with RED 18-50 or cooke i-lenses.

In case you are not kidding, the numbers and the feature is very real. You are right the numbers do not make sense, but they will. I'm just not going to explain it now.

For those that have asked, the monitor I used is:
HP-W2408H for $350.00

It's a good monitor, but not perfect. It has no DVI input. Just normal HDMI and VGA... WTF?!

I'm told a better alternative is:

Dell 2407WFP-HC

LOL!! C-Motion is a great system - but too much $$ IMO.

I am shooting with it on one rig with the new Arri system on another right now.

I will tell you - the new Arri CLM-3 Motors are the best motors I've seen yet. Pricing on the new ARRI stuff is TBD - but I suspect it will be LESS THAN C-MOTION.

Curt has got the best price point of all - if his stuff performs I'm buying for sure.

Besides ... I like to test everything. I keep learning that way.

Hehe - I wasn't kidding actually :-) My first thought was that it was placed in a very odd place on the monitor and in a couple of frames it seems to "shift" a few pixels which is why I thought you had put it on there afterwards :)

speaking for myself, i paid IN FULL (i'm not talking about a deposit) for something that was supposed to be shipping at that time, June 2008.
I am complaining about the respect (or lack of it) people like has has been given in these months.
no updates. false deadlines.
now it looks like we should all feel ashamed for blaming viewfactor for lack of communications with customers. let them working, poor guys...

and, please, it is JUST a video. not a single word on shippings of the real thing.:ranting2:

Well... I supposed you could respectfully drop out, and then all these broken promises and deadlines would be of no concern to you.

They are doing what they are doing. It's gonna come when it comes. Period. They are not companies trying to lie, they are a bunch of guys who see a light at the end of the tunnel, share that with us, and then, when they get to the light, they see another small problem, and another tunnel. It's called development, and it sucks.

If it helps you to know this, I will tell you that I have dealt a lot with these guys and they have pretty much taken on a new policy that they are not going to talk about ANYTHING coming anymore. They will announce new stuff when it's finished, and sitting on their desk.. But not before.

But for now, for these current products, we are where we are. You're choices are simple, you can stomach it, or leave.

Sucks I know, but that's how it is. Your complaining, or even worshipping will not make things work any different.. Except the latter just might make them like you more when it's over.

Hmmm that's a shame since the price on "whatever" product it could be will definitely go up then. I'm truly sad to hear that since I've heard little birds singing of what kind of different development they are planning.

I’m happy for their success and growth of business. Of course, There are some benefits to all of us to have this. We just upset on Shipping date.. keep moving in the wrong direction (LOL).

I'm not eager to use the word "liar." It doesn't help. But to refute your statement, we have been lied to, on numerous occasions. There, I said it. Do I hate them? No. I realize they are working hard and still have hope they are sincere. A lot of us out here have been quite frustrated with the timeframe, and for good cause. Your statements that "it is what it is," only scrape on an already festering sore.

This is not acceptable behavior on the part of the vendor.
