I can't believe you guys are still awaiting...
Crazy really... get you money back and move on, RedRock are bring out a RFF soon

Rory,
I was asking for money back one year ago. No real answer from C...and no product on the way.
How long does it take to get pictures back from Mars to earth? Where in space is C? All I heard about him: He is collecting a huge amount of bad karma in a endless thread.
Cheers,
Marc

bad karma.... come on... he is just off making money making rig's for Canon 5D's

Maybe write him a letter stating you'll contact his new client base if you don't receive a refund as I'm sure his new clients don't know of his bad rep with all the people who "invested" in VF years ago but never received a product.

If you've paid VF in full, how likely do you believe it is that you will get your money back or receive a working Follow Focus unit?

If you were to receive one, what would it's resale value be given the unspeakable lack of service and support? Who would rent one?

Do the VF apologists feel any sense of responsibility to those who may have stayed in the queue or purchased from VF?

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

I fail to see how comments like this and other recent comments serve any purpose. If you've got your money back or received your unit - good for you. Rubbing everyone else's nose in it doesn't achieve anything but perhaps bolstering your own ego.

Comments like this may prevent someone else from being victimized. That's one of the major benefits of forums; we laud the heros and uncloak the rogues.

Agreed. Can moderators make it a sticky?

I don't think anyone who reads this thread will have any trouble spotting the graveness of the situation. Constant soapboxing by people who no longer have skin in the game is pretty frustrating for someone like myself who is trying to get answers.

If you want to uncloak the rogues - go on cinema5D, eosHD, twitter, phillip bloom's or vincent laforet's forums and any other number of DSLR hangouts and let viewfactor's new clients know what's really happening. Doing so here is just preaching to the choir.

Dan, I'm very sorry you're on the short end of this; no one enjoys seeing someone financially harmed for trusting someone who not only failed to deliver, but broke every promise to keep his victims informed.

As far as preaching to the choir, not everyone here knows the full VF story; we gain new fellows all the time. I don't frequent the other forums; perhaps I should, but navigating this one is time consuming enough; since you are currently harmed by VF, perhaps you could reveal what you are experiencing.

I do hope you get some resolution from VF.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

Hi leo,
Appreciate your understanding. My experience probably isn't much different to others who are still in the queue. Last contact from Curt was via twitter on August 21 - "@graetzy Yes, I'll announce so really good things next week about the inclino/imperos." Since then nothing. He set up a thread on his own site http://viewfactor.net/forum/index.php?topic=141.0 which has barely been updated even after he's apologised for lack of communication.

If I was a US resident I would have paid him a visit in person by now - but I'm stuck here in Brisbane - along with a colleague of mine, Brigham Edgar -who I believe also has had an order in place for a long time. Since my purchase the US dollar has moved against me so between the currency loss and the logistics of an international refund - I've decided to hang in there.

Just so infuriating get no communication at all from someone holding my cash - yet see him spruiking new products on other sites.

I try not to burn on what is already burned out in this thread, but this is way beyond excusable....

How long has it been ? 2 years ? And still next month, next year ? This is dead !

I got a response from Curt after making that post. He's still maintaining that he doesn't want to waste time communicating with customers - but that he's spending all his time in the workshop trying to get the products out.
I pointed out that taking 10 minutes out of every week to write a sentence or two on this thread and others would probably earn him a lot more patience and goodwill from customers.
No new info on the Inclino/Impero status from him though.
We'll see I guess...

He's definitely alive and working. It would be nice if he could communicate with his customers.

For everyone who has requested refunds, the only thing to do is hope that he can sell enough of those DSLR cages and Origo controllers to eventually pay everyone back. I know Curt had good intentions all along, but he didn't do right by his customers to continuously drag out development. Taking the money in full, up front, was a huge mistake. And I have to wonder if he hadn't come along with the powered cage for the DSLRs, if his whole operation would've folded.

I've been mostly quiet on this thread for a long time, but I'm in the "waiting for a refund" camp. I wish there was more we could do, but there simply is not. Or at least nothing short of class action in a legal sense, but that would just end total loss for everyone I think.

The ViewFactor name is tarnished. If he ever does get the Impero and Inclino FF system to market, it's going to take a lot of positive reviews and reports of good customer service to undo what has been done. For the few that do have a FF system, I hope it's performing well. It seems I've read a few reports of the units being very nice and working well. But there's only like 5 of them out there in the world. The resale value on them has to be almost nil and I'm wondering what options you really have if a motor goes bad on you.

As for the DSLR cages, I personally have not seen one of his with my own eyes, but they look nice -- possibly even the best ones out there. I hope he sells a bunch of them so he can get back to shipping Impero/Inclino FF kits or refund checks, whichever is more realistic at this point.
