VFS Inclino, Imperio, Origo News ??

I guess he referred to the message:

"Please be aware that the old store has been shutdown..."

What I don't understand is that they have not fulfilled the orders from 2 years ago, they closed the shop, they did not update the customers or provided refunds and now they seem to be putting marketing and development efforts (and dollars) into new products looking out for more fools to hand them over the money and hope they will get the product for a change. Any takers to put deposits down for the new offering?

Who is up for a better summary in post #3,000

I don't think you understand what he's saying. He's shut down the old ordering system and put up a new one. If he had said "old shop" instead of "old store" I might think the way you are.

Matthew

Matthew, as far as I can tell the new shop does not offer Inclino/Impero. It is promoting and offering entirely new product range, which you can put your money on and hope you will get it. Am I missing something?

This is getting curiouser and curiouser. That's for sure. Glad I'm not on this cruise anymore.

Stephen

Does he mean like tonight tonight?

Curt's update is on the forum thread now - here's a copy:

It has been some time since we've given an update on the progress of the Inclinos and Imperos so heres where we stand today and what is being done make things right.

First off, we want to publicly apologize for the consistent lack of communication with our customers. We have three people in the shop of which one is part time. We hope you will understand that we have limited resources and as such can either put our energies into things that deliver products or put our energies into communication, more often then not we lean toward the former. We have a long way to go to on our customer service and we recognize that. Your complaints are not falling on deaf ears and we are doing what we can to remedy the short coming in that side of our business.

There have been a number of customers that have asked us to ship the motors as-is regardless of the problems that exist. We will not ship any Inclinos or Imperos unless they are 100% reliable from now on. We have tried to use parts on hand that were out of tolerance and in the end it is a waste of time to send out a motor that is unreliable and unusable. As stated back in Janurary, we have a final motor design that works - the problem is and always has been quality/quantity of parts we have in our possesion. We are committed to making these motors and controllers a viable product for our customers and future customers but cannot do so when our resources are depleated after half of our customers ask for refunds all at once.

We had set aside capital for bringing the tooling online here in the states in addition to running new sets of boards for Imperos to add battery protection and encoder fixes. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in tooling, parts, tools, labor and overhead but manufacturing flaws ended up causing delay upon delay. Those flaws cascaded into engineering changes, tooling modifications, purchasing alternate/new parts and further depleated reserve capital by another $100K.

We expected some cancellations but never expected to have so many customers leave at the absolute worst possible moment. We have refunded nearly all of those who requested refunds but for those customers that are still waiting we ask that they be patient with us for a little longer as we are doing our best to meter out refunds on a constant basis that does not require us to close shop.

Estimating ship dates is not going to be accurate at this point as it is totally dependent on when we generate the capital to pull the trigger on the modifications we need to make to our tooling. Every time we get significantly ahead several people decide to cancel their order. The more cancellations requests we receive the longer it is going to take us to deliver on orders. The more people that decide to scare away new customers for products such as the 5D/7D cages, the longer it will take us to deliver orders. Every time we sell a cage we can be just that much closer to delivering your orders. We only have so many ways to generate revenues to make this situation right and I would hope that our customers will let us have the opportunity to do what we need to do to remain a company and either deliver a good product or at least deliver a refund to those that request one.

We have had customers complain to us about spending our time/money on developing new products. What would you have us do? We have limited operating capital and didnt have the money needed to move forward on the motors so spending it on a product that could catch us up to where we need to be to make good on our commitments seemed like the only option for us.

We have put everything we have into to making this company and our products a success, unfortunatley at this point we are spending all of our time trying to stay ahead of the refunds and stay in business. I'm sure thats not what you would like to hear but its unfortunatley the situation we find ourselves in. Please give us the opportunity to get on our feet and make this right.

Exactly what I thought was going on. It is all you damn people asking for a refund that screwed it up for the rest of us.

I just got an OConnor CFF-1 so at least I now have a follow focus. But I really could use a wireless one though.... Glad to hear the design is final.

I strongly suspect that if Curt had been communicating with his customers on a regular basis Viewfactor would have had far less "unexpected" cancellations. Being off the radar only served to generate skepticism and caused customers to flee.

I don't know Curt, but have read that he's a good guy, and I happen to like the products Viewfactor has to offer. I had considered buying the cage for my 5D.

Anyway, good luck to Viewfactor.

Yep, you make your own bed. Only problem is that we're in it as well :emote_whack:

key quote "at this point as it is totally dependent on when we generate the capital to pull the trigger on the modifications we need to make to our tooling." The operative word is "when". In other words, they don't currently have the capital to finish our orders.

So...., nothing has changed in the last 6 months, when Curt first told us about his dire financial straits. And the only news is that they have not yet declared bankruptcy.

The "update" is topped off by a request to not ask for a refund even though he has no idea when we might get our units, because if we do, then we really won't get our units.

I believe the Mexican term is "huevos"

I believe he is just telling it like it is. It is not like he is just making up excuses.

I'm glad he isn't taking the easy way out. And I'm still looking forward to seeing an update on the Mirus....

Deam it! I knew this would happen!

At the end all this complaining and asking for refunds is what ruined it for the rest of us!

It pisses me off that i can't have the sexiest wireless FF on the market! :mad2:

If i remember it correctly from reading one of the 3000 posts on this thread you haven't placed your order yet? You're still waiting for them to actually ship.

Thankfully I am only a detached observer to this thread, but from that point of view I have to respectfully disagree with your conclusion. (Unless my sarcasm filter did a false negative.)

Lack, no: absence, of communication led to customers (who paid upfront!) to asking for refunds.

Yes that's true. I decided to buy the Inclino-Impero after i first saw one in action and fell in love with it. I was waiting for all the backorders to ship before I place my order.

Of course I agree with that! It's all Curt's fault!

If he kept the updates constant, people would know what was going on and wait for their product. No refunds means he could do the damn modifications to his tooling and everybody would probably have their product by now.
