I have to echo Ernesto's comments.
We too have Been using our system for
almost a year. The motors, after a few
upgrades are flawless. The system
syncs very quickly and is very easy to
use. We hope Curt enables hard stops
soon. I know it's not what people want
to hear but I don't think VF is going
anywhere, the system is just too good
for that to happen. If you can hang in
there, you will be impressed.

Most of you missed my point. I just wanted to tell that no reservations are refunded anymore, because some people asked and other assumed that they are. I am not saying that Incline/Impero is vaporware, I am just saying that all the waiting and all the technical issues lost two years of the developing cycle and that the money each one of you deposit was used in this period of time and are gone. I am sure that Curt and his family is not a crook or something on contrary I am sure his is nice guy and great engineer, but this doesn't change the financial situation neither the fact that our money are gone and that he is sitting on a pile of parts that are out of the specs. Probably he will try to manufacture new parts and units, but for this he needs fresh money and thats why he is developing new products. All this will not happen overnight. I posted about all this just because somebody asked few weeks ago if the deposits are returned if asked. The answer is NO. The simple speculation is if Curt couldn't develop and manufacture 50 units (because the units in the wild are less than 50) for a 2 year period with full financing, how many years you think he will need to deliver those 200-300 pre-ordered units without any financing. Of course I will be happy if somebody prove me wrong.

Are the numbers you are mentioning official VF data or are they coming out of your mind?

So is there any news lately? Anyone receive new units recently? Or is this really game over... Man, the least they can do is give us updates even if they have none...

Considerin no-one with a serial number of 50 has posted getting one and there are plenty below 50 who say they have still not (including those who were skipped), i would think he is on the right track even though not official. Especially considering Curt must be considered officially AWOL from this thread and obviously has no intention of returning to it or sending out an update to his investors for over a year now. Things must be rock bottom for him and it sounds as though developing new things to try and keep himself afloat.

Looks like Curt is busy making his DSLR "cage":

With Prague, as I still only have HDMI Marhsall monitors, I will be using Panasonic SDI monitors and also the View Factor cage as well as my Zacuto follow focus and other accessories. I need a cage so we can easily mount monitors and other bits on and keep it as solid as possible. This is where the View Factor cage is coming in. It’s the best on the market. I have the one for the 5D and Curt is working hard to get me the 1DmkIV version to Prague in time. I will also have two excellent “interns”, both talented filmmakers in their own rights. The great Nino Leitner and Sebastian Wiegärtner. I will get them rotating between data wrangling and 2nd AC. We needed a data wrangler on the the first batch of pick ups. This time we have oner.

I have defended Curt in the past, but there is absolutely NO EXCUSE to keep people in the dark about the progress of Impero / Inclino. He owes everyone who has paid for their product a thorough explanation why he's not delivering by now.

I agree with you Tony, Curt should give us all an update as to the state of play. I have my follow focus but am worried that if no more are delivered it will be useless as and when any problems occur.

I want Viewfactor to succeed and fill everyones orders so support and the promised software updates happen. Its a great system, but if less than 50 ever get made, it makes it a real worry !

Come on Curt, let us all know you are out there and still in business !!

Cheers, Tim.

Even if it's just to confirm what we suspect (VF attentions diverted temporarily to pay the bills) - an update is more than warranted. Even bad news would be better than silence at this point.

Guys, don't waste your time in this thread waiting for news updates. This is not Viewfactor's official communication forum and Curt himself hasn't visited REDUSER since March.

Email, call or visit (if possible) Viewfactor for the latest news.

It has been almost two years with little to no updates or responses to my emails. I am on a job in LA next week and intent to visit Curt and wait there till i get to speak to him.

Please let us all know what he says to you and then what your thoughts are regarding Viewfactor shipping more follow focus units.

Thanks in advance !!

update coming tonight i see...
according to the home page on viewfactor

I didn't see anything. . . it was blank. . . what did it say?

Stephen

I guess he referred to the message:

"Please be aware that the old store has been shutdown..."

What I don't understand is that they have not fulfilled the orders from 2 years ago, they closed the shop, they did not update the customers or provided refunds and now they seem to be putting marketing and development efforts (and dollars) into new products looking out for more fools to hand them over the money and hope they will get the product for a change. Any takers to put deposits down for the new offering?

Who is up for a better summary in post #3,000
