We are still in, and hope to get the unit one day :) even after investing in two FF for the last couple of years.
Curt, returning at least one of our numerous emails would be nice though... :)

Wow... I don't know what to feel about Curts response, other than it feels I just lost my money.. Of course people are asking for a refund. Blaming refunds for not delivering to customers that haven't asked for refund yet, is just very very bad business..

If I order two more motors, will I then be qualified to get my first order or what? Do viewfactor need more money to seal the deal? I rather pay more money to finally get something than just see this deal go down the drain.. Oooh, how frustrating..

Please Curt.. Let us that still want our units know what we can do in order to get these units out of the door, instead of hiding in a corner. This has to end, and this has to end now, or I feel everything is lost...

Well here's some more irony for you.

I contacted them to actually cancel my refund request for 3 fully packaged Inclinos/Imperos. I asked them to contact me regarding a few questions. Guess how long ago that was.... 3 months... have I heard from them... NO! This is when Im offering them to keep my money (after all its well over $10K there) and they still don't answer back.

Im asking myself why I even bother with these guys?

Edit: After all is it up to me to chase them down?

Hi Fredrik,

I share your pain. I don't know whats going on with those emails, but some days I get a response, some days its just lost in the ocean :/

Anyway.. I really want my follow focus. And I asked Curt for several ways to see if I (we) might help them. I have been going back and forth deciding to get a refund or not. But if money is the problem right now in order to get the units out in the wild, I hope we can make some sort of deal with viewfactor. I share their pain, and I share our pain aswell. Sure, it just feels like a crap situation right now, but I hope we can solve this together if just Curt and company let us know of the situation and is upfront with all the good and bads.

I just wrote about this to Curt and got a response very quickly. He asks us to please communicate at http://viewfactor.net/forum/index.php?topic=141.0 since alot of customers don't visit reduser, and I think 3026 posts of one way communication is enough...

Btw, Fredrik, are you planning to come up to Stockholm some day? It seems we have some stuff in common after talking to Constantine ;)

Unfortunately its way to seldom for me that I'm back home, but if I happen to be passing by I'll make sure to give you a call.

I think we can come up with a lot of great stuff

I have to agree that Curt is telling it how it is. It's a sad state of affairs for sure, and I truly hope that ViewFactor can survive this. If and when the products can be delivered, they will be great, of that I am sure. Unfortunately, if's and when's don't help the customers who need a wireless follow focus solution in their hands now. Some of us not only put a deposit on the wireless kit, but the Mirus motion control head as well. And there has been no update to the status of Mirus for quite a long time. If only Curt could get these products out the door, they would sell like hotcakes laced with crack.

Totally agree. I've got the Impero for the Birger -- fantastic product. I've got a small start up business running on the side (or not fully running but experiencing problem after problem) and I totally empathize with the problems I see with Viewfactor. If I had coins I would invest: the guys have great ideas...in some ways they were victims of limited resources (hence pressure to go off shore)...

Sad. Pulling for them big time. Hoping to be in position to purchase more of their stuff.

Curt absolutely amazes me.

If you'd looked after your original customers, those with open hearts and wallets, full of faith in your new business, and not ignored their investment in you for YEARS then perhaps you wouldn't be here now wondering why they're asking for their money back 'just at the absolute worst possible moment" (some have been asking for over a year anyway according to this thread)

What were you expecting?? If you'd simply kept them in the loop many of them wouldn't be asking for their money back. The 'we have limited resources to put our energies into communication' excuse doesn't cut it.. it takes mere minutes to post a couple of sentences on your website like 6 weeks ago.. or six months ago.. that alone would have helped keep many full payments in your bank and faithful customers in the queue.

Not sure why this gets me so annoyed, Ive nothing invested in this. Just annoyed when people rip other people off, even unintentionally. Im KNOW your a nice guy and all the best intentions in the world (and certainly some excellent products) but in my opinion a rip off this none the less is, and an impersonal, belated 'Reply to all' apology only partly makes up for it.

I think that was the biggest mistake of viewfactor, that they didnt make updates.
You can piss off people that much then you can predict how much pissed off they will be .
Updates would have probably save at list 50% of cancelations.
I think what they also try to do with new products is a solution.
they want to hit another market the DSLR. The bad thing is that their reputation about delivery dates has been around so I hope they dont get f..d from this.
Any way I really wish them good lucj as I said Iam keeping my half working unit hopping that one day will be up to specs functional.

Why don't you give us a closed answer about when you'll refund our money?
Which kind of credibility do you think you have after 2 years using our money to developing other products that we never order?
Do you know the meaning of "to steal"? And what about "to earn"?
I can not accept this situation because I worked hard to earn the money I paid you 2 years ago and I feel robbed.
The only reason because I'm not coming every day to your office to ask my money back is that you're 10.000Km far from here. You're just a coward hiding yourself behind an answering machine.
Sincerely I want my money back and you out of market. I don't think you deserve to earn any single cent from VFS.
I think you deserve a chief, you're not a businessman you're just a thief. Go out and find yourself a job, to pay us.

I post this also here because I don't trust VFS in anyway

To be clear let me start off by saying I am one of the very early buyers of an Inclino-Impero, which I paid for upfront, like everyone else, and for which I have not asked a refund, yet. I'm definitly pissed off at VF's lack of communication. However, considering all the difficulties they've encountered (which is no excuse for their lack of updates), I think it is fair to say, the money we all gave them has certainly been used up, minus those that asked for refunds, to develop the Inclino and Impero. They've obviously run out of money and therefor cannot refund people anymore and have had to limit (the little they have) ressources alloted to the development of the Inclino - Impero. Screaming and bitching won't help, and insulting them even less so. If VF go bankrupt and close shop, I think it is fair to say we will not likely see our money back. Telling him to go find a job, is rude, insulting and counter productive.

The fact VF are developing other product is a good sign. They want to stay alive. They have the ressources, creativity and tenacity to try and keep their business afloat. Only if they manage this, will we stand a chance to either one day get the product we paid for, or our money back. I'm personnaly relieved to see they've updated their website, to see they have other products, which are shipping, and so we can hopefully one day see and use Inclinos and Imperos.

Cheers,
Damien

Umm I think it has more to do with the fact that he took people's money over 2 years ago for a product that he still hasn't shipped (and with his latest update, will not ship indefinitely).

Curt has blamed everyone except himself. The Chinese manufacturers, people who took out refunds and depleted his resources (my favorite excuse), etc. Every single problem he's dealt with is his and only his fault. He decided to cut costs by going the Chinese route, as well as be completely under staffed to avoid more payroll costs. He got himself in way over his head, and has shown a complete disregard to the value of other people's money and keeping promises.

It's a good thing I got my refund already as I had every intention of filing a lawsuit. The fact that this Viewfactor situation still hasn't been cleared up still makes me infuriated.

How there are still people who defend this guy confuses the hell out of me.

You are forgetting the big one where he claimed that the wireless system manufacturers had given him inaccurate specs, causing him to use a totally different wireless format, which lead to hobbled transmission distances compared to what was originally advertised, which caused him to redesign the housings so that a new antenna system could be installed and raise the performance up to what was barely acceptable for a wireless user.

It's a good thing I got my refund already as I had every intention of filing a lawsuit.

OK, that is 1 refund out of a couple hundred orders. Consider yourself lucky. Any others?
