VFS Inclino, Imperio, Origo News ??

I know this is slightly off topic but I'm looking to an imperio/inclino for a five day shoot starting thursday, out of new york. PM me thanks.

That may be hard Ian since none have shipped yet:( I don't believe any are even supposed to ship until the end of this week. I have my camera out on a feature that my imperio was supposed to go out on. Instead, I'm paying 3/4 the price of the VF setup for a bartec for the month:(

You could power everything but just not off the ports on the back of the camera (under the LCD panel). Instead you'll have to power off the P-Tap on the battery mount.

Status on all products

Ok, we are now September 30th, here in Switzerland, still the 29th out in the "new" world. The Status on all products page ( http://viewfactor.net/forum/index.php?topic=57.msg341#msg341 ) hasn't been updated since Sept. 14th, that is two weeks ago ! It stills sys shipping on the 19th. Curt, Badinski bros, I have decided not to write e-mails to you directly anymore, as you have clearly explained how that takes up a lot of your time, but please, just update the above mentioned page so we know where things stand.

Cheers,
Damien

Update please....I have a sizable shoot starting Oct. 13th where I will need the wireless follow focus, or I will need to make arrangements for a rental. I just need to know.

Hey guys, I'll update as soon as I have good intel to update with. Our supplier has jerked us around so much lately that I don't trust the dates they give me until I see a tracking number. According to them I'm supposed to get replacement parts by Friday (this after promising me replacements last Friday). I don't have many options other than to CNC the parts (VERY VERY EXPENSIVE) or go with a new vender (LONG NEW TOOLING LEAD TIMES). Its driving me crazy. I'm using the extra time to clean up firmware and add in things that I think people will really like (eg. Birger support on Impero).

(eg. Birger support on Impero).

Cool. So all the programming built into your unit can be used on the Birger - like range adjustment etc? ie - the brains of your unit are in the Impero? The Birger appears to have their brain in the mount. Or is that incorrect?

Would this allow the Impero to wirelessly control the Birger? Or just wired?

(I should have a Birger 6 months ago :glare: ... and I'm #2 on your orders list so if you need a beta tester let me know!)

Hi Curt,

Thanks for the update. I'm not asking for a definitive date, I just think if you explained the above in your "Update on all products" page, everyone would be a lot more relaxed, and when someone asked where things stand, on this forum, we could just direct them to that page. Right now we can't do that as it says something incorrect.

Cheers,
Damien

Is it not unrealistic to ask VF for a shipping date when they are at the mercy of a recalcitrant supplier? VF can do no more than pass along promises which have proved to be disingenuous.

Perhaps I'm stating the obvious, but should VF be advised to seek out more reliable suppliers and have at least two for each component? I realize that we're talking about relatively small runs of parts, but the current situation does no one any good.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

Second that.

Curt, please take a minute and update that page. There may be people relying on the false information. According to that page my Inclino and Impero shipped 4 days ago. And that's just not true.

Thanks.

I think that would be cost prohibitive, VF is giving us an extrodinary deal, I think, trying to keep cost low to pass along the savings might rule out this kind of strategy.

VF got snagged by the age old marketing and delivery snafu. You want to
trumpet your latest products as soon as possible to get some buzz. Production delays and bad vendors keep you from delivering at a certain time
which makes you look bad. You can either sit on your hands until you have
something to deliver or try and gauge delivery times on projected lead times.

A tough call either way.

I am happy to wait for my VF gear. But I would like to be kept informed about the status of the delays. I bet VF is doing their best to get their suppliers to keep them informed of what their delays are.
A little information will keep us all much happier. Please use your update page for that too.
Cheers, Tim.

I'm certainly not asking for a shipping date, just that old incorrect information not remain on their update page. I'm really only suggesting they explain what's going on, on their update page, so people don't hassle them or fill this forum of messages asking where we stand.

Now I know, through this forum and through private e-mails from Curt, where things stand, so all's fine by me. And I thank Curt & bros for their time and effort.

Cheers,
Damien

It happens in any case. As for our vendors our we only have so many options that we can go with considering the price point that we have set for our products. If we wanted to sell Inclino motors for 2,300US then we would have plenty of options on the table as far as vendors but thats not the case. The key for us is getting the price right but not lowering the quality that we want. We are not delaying because we want to. I am coming on full time just to help keep up with all the customer service calls and emails we are getting daily. I will also be personally building your units and checking the orders when they go out. Curt is putting in 20 hours a day to get these things out to you. I for one want to see these in your hands ASAP!

I have Red #115. I seem to remember it taking it taking Red way more time than they expected to get me my camera. It's a brave new start up thing. Now Kurt don't mis-understand me and start lally-gagging around. I am anxious to get my Inclino System ;)

We don't criticize the delay!
We just want you to update your status page on http://viewfactor.net/forum/index.php?topic=57.msg341#msg341!
It's heavily outdated!
Please!

I'm also bummed out with all the waiting, but it's not just start-ups that have this problem. I've waited over a month and a half for a new 27" Dell monitor I ordered :-/
