Okay, so this may be a stupid problem, but I'm having a hard time solving it at the moment.

I just got my CLUTCH... and I can't get the camera down into the quick release with my APU-AB on the camera. I'm using a Dionic 90 right now, which is pretty small, and due to the curvature of the shoulder pad on THE CLUTCH, the battery hits the shoulder pad. DRATS! So first of all has anyone else had this problem? Second... any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Looks like a bottom riser plate may be in order, but I certainly don't want to go raising my camera up any more than I have to. Dammit...

Lots of talk about the Hytron 140, a slight tweek and maybe a 25 degree off-set swing-away mount would fix this, so would a rear SSD module which is coming.

Your are the second person I have had mentioning a problem with the APU-AB on the clutch. The IDX seems to work well due to the battery always being above the lowest portion of the plate. The AB Dionic 90 sits lower and is where the problem lies. I think your best bet would be to mount the APU-AB onto the top of the clutch (above the shoulder pad) using the five 1/4-20 holes on the plate. It might just make it. If that doesn't work then we are making adapter plates to mount the plate in alternate locations - also we will have longer cable options at the end of the month.

Thanks Curt, I'll see what I can do. Freaking bummer, but I know it isn't your fault at all. If I could, I would just turn the shoulder pad portion around 180 degrees so it doesn't curve up above the rods, but both ends don't have the same mounting flexibility so I'm pretty much screwed there. Took the thing apart and tried it every which way... beyond frustrating :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:

Again, not your fault at all... just seeing if anyone had any ideas. I'll see what I can figure out mounting the plate elsewhere and report back. Bummer though, cause now I'll have to unmount the battery plate from the freakin' camera and clutch everytime I want to switch between sticks and clutch.

Question - would one of your bottom plates work? How thick are they? Can I mount the RED QR plate to them without the camera-mount screws interfering?

If you guys made a simple cheese plate type thing that could mount to the array of holes on the rear shoulder/back pad of THE CLUTCH (really could be mounted anywhere with that same type of spacing) and had the posts or screws in the same pattern as those on the back of the camera for the APU to mount to, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Would require about a 12-18" cable (the lengths I've previously suggested I think) and that would solve a lot of problems. I'd love to be able to just quick release the APU from the camera, throw it on the clutch and be done with it. I know this stuff takes work, and I'm by no means saying "HURRY UP AND MAKE IT NOW!!" but just throwing out some helpful (if obvious) suggestions. Thank you Curt and Brook!

Anyone using the Beillen BL-AN130 (130wh gold mount) batteries on the AB-APU? If so, do they stick down below the battery plate like the Dionic 90? Thanks everyone.

Hi Curt and Brook,

I'm looking to order the IDX version. Any word on availability, timing? I can't even place an order on the site?

The Lemo connectors required to connect to the camera are currently backordered globally. We're told to expect stock on or around the 25th of February. As soon as we have a shipment en-route from Lemo, we'll put the plates back up in the store!

Sorry for the threadjack Brook & Curt, but just an update for anyone having this issue with THE CLUTCH and AB-APU

I took the 19mm Universal mount from the rear of the shoulder pad and bolted it in between the Dovetail Baseplate and shoulder pad, which added ~1" of space and allows the battery to just barely clear the shoulder pad. I'll have to buy another Universal 19mm Mount to re-attach to the back of the shoulder pad and make that nice angle for the rear pad dogbone attachment, but for the most part everything's working quite well now. The camera being around an inch farther forward does make it slightly more front-heavy, but with the way THE CLUTCH grips my body it's hardly noticeable.

So got that figured out for now... :)

Brook, Kurt, would it be possible to mount an APU-IDX battery plate over a shuttle mount (quick swap between tripod/shoulder configuration).
And, if this is possible, what about the longer cable that I'd need when battery plate would be on the back of my shoulder mount and not attached directly to the camera?

NEVERMIND, FOUND THE ANSWERS in first post..

Hey i am sure this is on hold till Lemo supply comes back but looking for info for a Longer cable for my AB VF plate.. Its a very short cable and I can't have the redmote and them both on.

After all 56 pages I still don't understand where I would have to put APU if I wanted to have Redmote hardwired and APU on his back. Can somebody enlighten me?
Brook/Curt, beside the global shortage of Lemo's, wouldn't be easier to offer different extensions (male lemo-cable-female lemo) instead of dismounting battery adapter plate to change cable?
Thanks

Is there any update on when these plates will start shipping again?

Has anyone received one recently?

One day from a real update, don't worry guys! We have received connectors and they're being made into cables as I type. Big update tomorrow night or Saturday where I'll answer everybody's questions.
