Thanks a lot brooke, we received 4 of your battery plates here in paris today .
Congrats for this really clever solution.
Let us know when you come up with an extender( of the alimentation cable), this would be even better...

Hey Brook,

I hate to ask but do you have an ETA on the next batch? Not that it matters too much because Scarlet won't be here until Mid-December at the earliest. :-)

Thanks!
AJ

Received my battery plate on monday as promised, it's really great, easy to install and remove very quickly, fits perfectly on the Epic (without the washers in my case). Thanks Curt and Brook :)

Hey Brook/Curt,

Got my plate today. Awesome job! Really a fantastic solution. This is a must for any Epic/Scarlet user.

Only one nit, after my post a while back, I expected to receive 2-4 extra screws, but only got 4. As I mentioned, there's a risk one or two of these will get lost along the way. Anyway you could include a few extra in the package?

Or if they are readily available, can you point us to a source?

Also, when will additional cable lengths be made available?

Thanks again!

Mark

I just received my VF battery plate. Although it looks very well built, there is at least one design flaw. Unless I'm mistaken, it's totally unusable with RED top handle facing backwards, when the handle is attached to a swat rail attached directly to the camera. Although Curt indicated that the handle "just clears", I feel this was misleading. Yes, the handle 'clears' the battery plate, but no, you can't have a battery in it and use the top handle because it will not clear the battery...at least not with my set up (see photo). Perhaps with a top plate the VF battery plate will work the way it should, but I can't confirm this because I don't have one yet (I'm waiting impatiently for my Tactical top plate). I feel, however, that I shouldn't have to put a top plate on the camera in order to use VF's battery plate with such 'standard equipment' as the Top handle.

Try removing the screw-on "cap" at the back end of the handle. It looks like the battery might just clear then.

Man, exactly what I have been looking for. The AB mount that is :)

No rush... I don't expect my Scarlet till the end of this year, if that... but I know what I'll be using to attach my Dionic 90s to the camera now! Thanks Brook, keep up the awesome work! :hurray:

YEAH MAN! Great solution, worked like a charm. Without washers though, thinking the washer were fitted to an X not an M, but fits great without washers, here is a photo.

Next batch should be out on Wednesday or Thursday. We are getting a lot of stock in on Wed. so battery plate orders delayed by other items will all be going out as well.

Thanks Curt! Will orders being shipped be notified via email with a confirmation # or anything? Or, will it simply arrive under my Christmas tree like Santa Claus magic? The pictures are starting to resemble the latter after all ;-)

Brook, I'm interested and would like to buy one but, after my past experience with VF I will not pay until I see the goods in my hand. VF have proved untrustworthy, to say the least. Is there any way to order it from you rather than VF?

I'll tell you what. I say order one through the website on my word that you'll be taken care of. I trust Curt and the other folks at ViewFactor enough to put both of our names on the parts that I'm responsible for. To my knowledge, we don't have a single customer who is dissatisfied with my accessory line or our ability to deliver it. If all goes according to plan and you find yourself among the satisfied... give them some of your trust back.

I'm not involved with VF's other endeavors, just the ones you see my name on. When you order those parts from VF, you're ordering them from me.

Brook, we received the the battery plates. AWESOME man. Thank you!!!! Not to derail the thread but...you still doing those side arms that will be compatible with RED quick release DCMS? I know RED has the "ribs" coming in December (which really means june of 2012 ;) but they are not NATO accessory compatible like yours and I'd rather buy your stuff as at least I know I won't have to fight the whole back order issues that currently plagues RED...
