  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

V-Raptor 8K: Why is a low-shutter limited to 1/23.98?

Hi,
Does the new sensor X have the same limitation?
thx
kévin
Pretty much the same situation with raptor x. I have to scratch my head over this as it could be done on old tec but not new. To my mind there is no excuse but not interested in doing it. Although there is some reference to longer exposure times some where in the detail about the camera. Perhaps it is a firmware thing? But as it stands it is still not at dsmc2 level

V-Raptor X can go to 1/5.99 as of right this second.

I've mentioned a few times about why I think it's difficult to produce longer exposure times on fast readout and global shutter sensors. But if RED does implement it somehow, it would probably be 1 second max exposure like DSMC2. I think Frame Averaging and Summing might be "more" useful overall while adding more functionality to the camera personally.

+1 here wanting this feature to be added. Just wrapped a shoot where we wanted to do some blurred stop motion like shots and realized shutter speed below 1/23.98 was absent on Raptor. My old Gemini could do this, don’t see why this can’t be implemented.

Anyone have any idea of whether Red is still looking at this?
