  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Upgrade Paths

Thanks Brent - I will reach out to Nick to see about getting that all sorted out - thanks for the insight.

I also just got a tracking number via email - hopefully that doesn't throw anything off.

Yes, please work with your reps if you think this happened. If you change your order from SCARLET-W to EPIC-W - and had payment option set up as credit card for your SCARLET-W - and you were allocated before your rep changed from credit card to leasing payment terms, it could have started order processing by charging the card. Silly us for having stock when we go live for a change, ha. That and being crazy enough to allow all this switching and upgrading....

So, yes, please let your rep know so we can take care of reversing the charge...

When was your Scarlet-W Deposit Time?

Josiah, remember, while timestamps are important....

Customer A has SCARLET-W timestamp of Dec 11, 1pm. Places EPIC-W order Oct 11 at 11am, we run batch of pick lists at 12pm for SCARLET-W switcher queue, he gets allocated today.

Customer B has SCARLET-W timestamp of Dec 11, 11am. Places EPIC-W order Oct 11 at 1pm, we run batch of pick lists at 12pm for SCARLET-W switcher queue, he will be allocated the next day.

These examples are for illustration purposes, of course, but those are real scenarios. We cannot hold off on shipments placed in AM to see if if we get someone placing an earlier timestamp in the PM. Everybody gets pushed back in line. Then, technically, do we wait until we have 10 days of orders, then go by timestamp? Of course not. Again, every loses.

Moral of the story, if you guys go down the rabbit hole of SCARLET-W deposit times blended with EPIC-W order times, you are going to wind up bat shit crazy.

I ended up calling Heather and telling her I wanted to pay with my 0% interest card and it sounds like my camera will ship out tomorrow!

Now you know why people who feared going from one long line to another were rewarded by Jarred leaking so much info up front, you were primed and ready today...

I've asked a couple times but I can't seem to get any idea on what kind of supply of Weapon Helium 8K cameras are ready to go. Are these in ample supply like the Epic W?

Hey Brent. I'm sure Kevin is dealing a mob of customers and my timestamp is probably a good bit behind with all the initial day orders. I'm at Jan 4.
I emailed him about 7-8 minutes after announcement for SW to Epic-W plus aks order request.
I should probably sit tight and wait a day or so right?
Thanks a mil and super excited! The wait has been worth every minute!

This is great news! I just assumed that since the outright retail price purchasers of Epic-W had priority over us, that they were the ones that used up the stock today so there was already a line ahead of us switchers. I got a purchase order today a couple of hours ago which is a good sign, so I suppose I just need to make sure I can get financing from SoCal then I would be in the next batch. If batches are going out daily that's awesome and all I can ask for.

Shipping estimates on RED.com are current: http://www.red.com/store/products/weapon-brain-with-helium-8k-s35-sensor

NOTE: We had stock of those today as well at launch.

I never heard back from my rep. :(

Fortunately, I am just in my office playing Minesweeper, ha.

Yes, please let the guys and gals get caught up. On average, each rep received about 200x emails emails today plus additional voicemails…. Will go as fast as we can…

Yes, once we receive payment from leasing company, you would be worked back into the queue. No, not back of line. But next open camera for allocation. Since we are allocating as we build to these orders, it may not be next day’s batch, as those may have already been allocated. So, may be a few days. Just trying to level set expectations. We are not “saving” your camera for you while we wait for payment.

Standard operating procedure, really… You will be allocated once payment is confirmed. As would be expected, the processing time for credit application process and us receiving funds is tacked on.

Brent - thanks so much for the explanation! I'm so pumped to be getting a camera this quickly! Amazing

Does splitting the payment between 2 or more credit cards delay an order somehow? My rep told me this "Also since we are splitting the charges, there will be some time before your camera ships and the charges are made. Just wanted to let you know."

Not sure why that would cause a delay, but if so, how long?

man what a day. ty red. ty guys who came and hung out with me in teamspeak today. it was really fun.

pretty crazy to see the guys at red still working away here

Exactly -- and thank you Matthew for setting up the teamspeak group chat. Definitely was a more interesting experience to share it that way with all of you. Only problem for me in all of this was that it was so freaking late over here when it all got started (2AM for me), and I was so thrilled at getting my order in for the Epic-W that I couldn't get any sleep until about 7am! All well worth it.

Also, many thanks to my Bomb Squad Rep, Johnny Chang. He somehow was able to take my call and got my order in pretty early. Booya!

I called in my order, was told they would respond via email. I have a Woven Weapon allocated with the package deal for credit towards accessories, discount, and etc. and a Raven allocated that my order was placed the hour of Raven launch. I hope i'm allocated on Epic-W...
gah.

Really just extra work for AR who processes the cards. Should not really have a meaningful impact, I would think.
