Getting a FedEx tracking number from RED is the quickest way to help you forget all your worries.

Sadly my 7" screen nor my base expander were allocated yet... Also using the old 5" meant no top handle either... Living in Dallas I dropped into WC and they went way way out of their way to help make sure id be up and running. Great great guys over there.

Sorry for the barrage of photos. I couldn't help myself.

Never be sorry for the amount of photos on this beast. Congrats - looks like you wasted no time putting it to work! Awesome!

It was literally on sticks and rolling 45 minutes from being dropped off the truck. :cheers2:

If you have the titanium mount you don't need a lens support for that 70-200

Not the titanium mount, plus Im very run and gun with this thing. Throw the cam and sticks between my legs on a scooter and go. The bumps enroute from corner to corner worried me.

That's what I like to see :) Congrats!

Thank you sir!

Wow! Did you manage to get one of the cableless v-mount plates from Wooden Camera???

Gold Mount ;)

Now THIS is how you do photos for newly received s-w units! Thanks for sharing your joy with us. Can't wait for mine to arrive. Congrats! Now go film some stuff and share it with us!

Hey John,

First off congrats on the arrival of the new rig! That is exciting to see that they are starting to arrive. It looks like you are at COTA rolling footage. Do you work for the track or were you out there on an assignment? Looking forward to seeing stuff from COTA if you are able to share it with us.

Cheers,

Paul

That is definitely COTA....love that place. Need to make it there for some MotoGP! Congrats on the camera. If you are riding on a scooter around the track with that thing, try to keep the rubber side down!

You're not helping with the "patience" part of this ;)

Congrats... I can't wait to get mine. It looks like I'll have it in time for a couple of projects that are currently in development though. Plus some mountaineering... :)

Thanks! I was working for the Westby Yamalube team. Just a little preseason video. Id have it done already and good to show if not for this minor editing issue with the Scarlet-W footage.

Ill be there for MotoGP in a few weeks, I’m quite good friends with Colin Edwards and he hooked me up with Mark Neal (FASTER, FASTEST, Hitting the Apex, etc) to help shoot his next MotoGP doc. Im pretty excited about that because shooting video on site while Dorna is there can be really really tricky. Hope to see you there Scot!

Yeah, I have been to enough races to know that Dorna is PITA. Colin Edwards is the bomb btw. Mark Neal has def made some cool movies. I haven't seen Hitting the Apex, but I wasn't plussed about Neal ditching Ewan for Brad....Both know bikes..but sometimes that is how it is. I would love to know the workflow on those movies, especially with all the Dorna material that has to be laced in. I have been to COTA for F1, but not for MotoGP. I would love to ride that track.

Colin is the bomb, great great guy. Tells it like it is. RideSmart Track days is doing a track day at COTA soon! $495, get it!

So... any chance you're posting a Vimeo of the goods you got that day?

Well, client needs delivery by end of week. So I suppose ill begin transcoding everything and begin an edit soon

Alrighty, Ive got a rough draft up. Interested to see what you guys think. Shot mostly at 5K 2:1 60FPS as well as 4K 2:1 150FPS nothing lower. Some 5K 23.976 for scratch audio. So nice to have after having had rented Epics and having to get mics.

Ive never edited from proxies before, so that was new and actually pretty cool. Waiting on the team for final graphic assets and approval for a final.

I shot everything in about 5 hours... I was supposed to have two days but the camera was sent priority overnight with FedEx and then their plane had a mechanical. So I got it late on the second day. :mad2:
