  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Today was a very good day... S-W #218 arrived

Great job John, regardless of the hurdles. Really a shame what happened to the Wolverine. Those kinds of things mess you up. Curious if any of the nat sound we are hearing in the piece (where it does show up) is from the Scarlet's onboard mics. I know you were over-cranking and of course no sound there. Really beautiful stuff. Can't wait to get my camera. However, I won't be able to make Loudon (closest track to me) look like that. Compared to COTA, Loudon looks like a pot holed Boston back road, haha.

beautiful john

Thanks Matt!

Thanks Scot! It really was. Dane was a great guy, listening to his father talk about him can be heart breaking. All the nat sounds you hear are in fact from the Scarlet-W on board mics. I shot around a little at 23.976 to gather a bit and also to play with the image at low compression.

You cant say that about Louden! Haha, its your job to make it beautiful in its own way, likely more character than anything. Shooting COTA certainly does make my job a bit easier though :P

Crisp. Great stuff John.

Appreciate it Christian!

I just uploaded an updated version to Vimeo with a bit more work on the sound design, as well as updated team graphics.

Looks great John. Great first project with the new camera. Really like the shot around 2 minutes of him coming into the pit and the last shot in the video of the bike in the garage as well. Much respect shooting trackside with a time limit, it's certainly not easy.

Now I just need to get out there for F1 one of these days.

John - looks great!

What ISO were you using?

Is it all available light?

Looks great, thanks John.

Absoloutely!

Great use of 5 hrs. Pretty well rounded. Love the macro shots. Thanks John.

Suddenly ok about having to wait for mine.

Appreciate it! The camera is absoloutely stunning. Its everything I hoped for and more.

I was using ISO800 in the garage mostly with plenty of room left in the lens to open up. ISO250 Out in the sun on track. Everything you see is 100% available light.

Fantastic John! The download h.264 is a beauty. Great work all around!
Stoked to see Scarlet-W kickin in the real world.

nice! and the canon and sigmas seem to work nice together, love those macro 100mm shots too.

Yeah, I’m very happy with the lenses I selected. All of them super sharp. 100 Macro is SUCH a fun lens to use.

At least now I'm convinced that I made a good choice with the Scarlet-W. :)

I can almost promise you will not regret the purchase at all.

And just as Jarred said, my 7" AL screen shipped yesterday. My package is now complete.
