  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet W is here to stay. It will be

Raven / Scarlet W / Carbon Weapon 6k/8k on the dragon side

Epic W / Weapon Helium on the Helium side .

so to reiterate what i said in the closed thread group :)

"wow, so with this statement(below), being very clear, no matter what camera you already own, red one, raven, scarlet-mx, etc- you have a deal coming on oct 11th!"

Come Oct 11, here EVERY. SINGLE. CAMERA. OWNER. has something at the table for them

Thanks Jarred, but can we know how much we have to pay to upgrade Epic Dragon to Epic-W?

Scarlet-W owners know they have to pay 10K, and Weapon MG owners know they have to pay less,
But we Epic Dragon owners are in the middle, I know I can pay 14K to upgrade to Weapon MG now,
Or pay more a bit more than 10K to get Epic-W, but how much more?

If it's 14K or 15K, that's great, I'd be happy to wait till Oct 11.
Please give us Epic Dragon owners another hint so we can figure out our options.. Because one update stops at Oct 11, and another one starts on Oct 11.

And again, thanks, I'm grateful for the upgrade options that we get as customers.
 
This is pretty exciting to be a RED customer. I really have never seen this sort of interaction before as a customer. Thank you Jarred, Brent, Graemme and all the RED staff that make this happen.

There is a treasure hunt of info in this insane 200 page thread so can I sum up what we know so far?

Specs and Pricing:

Weapon Helium = Same specs as Stormtrooper 8K but Black instead of White. 8k slightly bigger than S35, 8k 60fps frame rate. $49,000 new

Epic W = 8K S35 unknown sensor size, unknown frame rate. I assume 8K at 24fps at lower bitrate than Weapon . I hope same frame rates and bitrate at 6K as Weapon MG Dragon 6k. $30,000 new

Upgrade Options:

Epic Dragon / Scarlet Dragon / Epic-MX / Scarlet-MX / Red One = $17,500 Upgrade to Epic-W

Scarlet-W already delivered or deposit = $10,000 Upgrade to Epic - W

Weapon MG = $9500 Upgrade to Epic - W or $15,000 upgrade to Weapon Healium

Carbon Weapon 6k owners = $6000(?) Upgrade to Weapon Helium

Carbon Weapon 6K owners with Dragon VV deposit = $0 upgrade to Helium 8K

Weapon MG -> Epic W
Weapon CF -> Weapon Helium

So the toal line up would look like:

Raven
Scarlet-W
Carbon Weapon 6k
Epic-W
Carbon Weapon 8k Dragon
Weapon 8k Helium

Pretty decent line up. I need to pick which I want to be my second camera, The Epic-W or Scarlet-W. Depends on if I want to shoot 8k All the time, or if I want to have a dragon body laying around.

Either way, I'll get myself in the Scarlet-W Queue before the 11th and decide to upgrade or not when I hear about the Epic-W.

Unless I missed it, I don't think there has been any official confirmation that Epic Dragon or Scarlet Dragon can go to Epic-W has there? Those people are supposed to goto Weapon MG or Carbon Dragon or Scarlet W first?

Just pay attention in October..... if we have learned anything here is that waiting is part of the RED game except for those that sneak in as soon as the bell rings.

Yes, Dragons go into your first line. All DSCM1 / RED ONE owners are in that group including Epic MX and Epic Dragon, Scarlet MX and Scarlet Dragon.
