  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brent, I have a Scarlet MX that fell in the ocean while shooting the NY Jets Cheerleading team that i'm using as a paperweight. Can I upgrade it to a Weapon Helium? lol

Dang! Never would I have thought i'd get a serious answer to such a question. I can't believe what the RED team are doing! Camera world domination. Unfortunately, I can only try and upgrade my Scarlet Dragon at the moment.

This is all fantastic news. Huge thank you to all the guys at RED for taking care of your customers. It's impressive to say the least.

I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere else, but how much is it to upgrade the Ravem to Scarlet-W?

no clue, first ive heard this is even possible (originally raven was supposed to live and die at 4.5k)

People with undelivered RAVENs had (have) opportunity to convert that order to SCARLET-W - and keep their RAVEN time stamp. This has been in place since before we started shipping RAVEN, I believe.

Thanks to John for creating a "best guess" reference to hold RedUsers over until the official announcement. Thanks to Jarred for his willingness to confirm it's proximity to their actual plans so RedUsers can chill out until the 11th. As Brent noted, there have been many hours of internal discussion about how to be fair to customers across the spectrum of upgraders their policies have created over the years. Jarred promises to have good options for all existing owners/depositors/pre-payers in the Oct. 11th realignment, even to the point of taking a financial hit in exchange for doing right by their customers. Without going back in time and magically improving sensor yields/supply chain issues - what more can you ask?

So one could essentially buy a used Scarlet MX brain then pay the $10K to get a Epic-W? Is that right?
 
Brent, should I assume that if we upgrade our Scarlet Dragons to whatever the deal is after Oct11, we won't be able to keep our Scarlet Dragon Bodies as we can with the present upgrade path?
 
With Jarred/Brent saying that this whole incentivized timeline is because RED screwed up at the launch of Scarlet-W/Raven cameras, I really think it's RED's way of saying "Thanks," to all of us, from the first customer, to the last. So while RED has amazing ways to show thanks to us, I (and I'm guessing all of us) would like to thank them.
