  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Quickest Way to Lose My Respect...

"See over there? That's where we should pretend to be working when the photographer is around."

Douchebag is as douchebag does... While the ol' four finger finder isn't grounds enough for me to make a douchebag declaration, it may alert the early warning system in the presence of other factors. A beret or ascot would qualify as contributing factors for sure, and if it isn't cold a scarf counts as an ascot.
Ya mean sorta like this? ... :aureola:

Right that does it no more scarfs for me ..........or should that be ascots. Personally I think a cravat is really stylish, even better, riding breeches with a beret.

Yes finger framing is lame but I imagine easily caters for different aspect ratios ...not sure how "finger framing" handles long or wide lens....... let alone anamorphic.

LOL.......Eric beat me to it with a pic^^

LOL

Wow, you would have slammed me with the trifecta if only he were using the finger finder in the pic! I need to make an amendment to the earlier rule that I thought was understood: Mad skills trumps all. That dude can do anything he wants!

Yup, that was close enough to a slam dunk. I need to tap out. Damn!

You have to have genuine ultra-style going on to pull off any of those things. ;-) Ultimately it's all about attitude though.

It's just a way to communicate a complex idea. I never do it, but that's just me.

Scott, I agree 100% with you here. I am exaggerating when I say "instant loss of respect." it's a douche-flag for sure :)

It is noble of you to come to my aid but I am vanquished. Save yourself!

Edit: Can I get a saving throw?

I think we need a judge's ruling. The gesture is not the same.

Even a layperson can tell the difference.

Hand-framing is for those filmmakers that don't know what lens to use or to show the rest of us how to see the world. Although I have seen David Fincher do this a few times, and that dude knows exactly what lens to use.

I do this a lot when scouting and on set. Sometimes helps. Results are more important than being friends. Though I'd prefer both.

I disagree the 1st photo "The tool" he looks so stylish you can tell he has a stylist, he's sharp, he's happening, he is so it right now.

As for that old guy after him...who's he?

Haha, he's sharp, maybe he is a stylist, but right now he's a cliché IMO... But I'm an old guy. It's the finder, eyeliner and the manicure. The close cut facial hair is most cliché. The clothes look good though.

One guy is pretending to be The Shit, and the old guy IS The Shit. Posers. That's the problem. Pretty eyes are secondary.
