  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Mother of all Backorder Updates

Pro IO. And it likely wont be early like the quad charger :)

That somewhat suggests that the base I/O could be back? Thought it was cancelled? But without audio this didn't seem to make too much sense anyway. But since I can't find any info on any of these anymore... Who cares ;) we'll just have to wait

That all being said, a big shipment of Canon mounts hit the docks at REL today and more arrive there next week. We just caught up on Canon backorders shipping from US and REL is right on the heels of that. So, delta recognized, supply chain load balanced, REL is getting more mounts.

Great news. I need the Canon mount ASAP. So a can finally have my Epic-X. :yesnod:

Anyone know where this updated REDMote info is coming from? If it's true, it's a real bummer.
Thanks,

-Harry

Bomb squad rep...
Just recently we found out about the side handle being allocated which is great!
We know dates change, but it was sure fun to refresh that post where the dates were giving you hope!
No one doubts RED commitment.. so we patiently wait.

Just received my Side Handle on Friday. 4 days after the Allocation email. Shipped by ground clear to the opposite end of the country.

It was the last piece I was waiting for.

APPARENTLY, and I didn't know this, but when you take a Scarlet out in public, a lot of people are gonna walk right up and ask what the hell it is. More surprisingly, a few people (in this case, High school students and an MIT professor) even go "...you have a SCARLET?!"

Gear from Red certainly makes an impression. I should just make my business card a picture of me, big dopey grin and giant thumbs up, standing behind my Scarlet.

RED EUROPE versus RED USA. Like with any company that has multiple sales locations (subsidiaries, distributors, etc), you are going to have differing inventory levels by location. You stock each location based on what you think demand will be for x period of time. If sales are higher or lower than forecasted, then one location may be in stock in one item while it is not in another due to relative inventory levels. In this case, RED EUROPE had higher than forecasted sales on an item so we would up being out of backorder quicker on shipments from US than RED EUROPE. The reverse has happened in the past on some items. That being said, when we recognize a big delta between locations, our supply chain team will go back to inventory and try to load balance to their best of their ability - and as quickly as they can. Obviously, a lot goes into that analysis and you don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul.

I appreciate your thorough explanation, Brent - and I totally understand it's a bitch to deal with different sales locations. But, the thing here is that I never opted to buy this mount from the UK. I ordered from the Red.com Store and was anticipating to be dealing directly with RED US because I knew RED in the UK could be a problem in terms of delivery of the Canon mount. I must admit I find it mildly offensive to read stuff like "yeah if you order today then you should have it in 2-3 weeks time" and then learn of others that ordered a mount a few weeks ago and already got it when I've had to wait for 3 and a half months and I'm still in the dark about mine.

Just got my email for the DSMC Ti Canon mount. Ordered December 17.

No longer in the dark. Just got notice my mount is on its way. I'm psyched this nightmare is finally over and I can start shooting without having to borrow and rent lenses every time I need to shoot something - and rent my Epic to all of those requesting the Canon mount! ;-) This also means there's a real possibility I'll bring my Epic to NAB!

Is there a choice? As I understand it all the sales to europe will be transferred to uk?

red uk got a huge batch of toys in today. Sadly enough, my side handle didn't come with it.

Just got my email for the REDMOTE. Ordered December 17.

Just got allocation letter from Red Europe for side handle ordered with scarlet pac on Nov. 8. :)

Absolutely love my Red Station Redmag Minis, they have now permanently replaced the standard ones in my bag... ;)The standard now reside permanently on my DESK... ;)

Have anyone got their quad chargers and XL's delivered?
I was happy to order the first day they appeared in the shop, when they where not backordered, but then the rep tells me today that it will take a couple of weeks before they can ship...

I understand it's super hard to predict the order status for all items and such but it would be great if we could count on the items not being on backorder in the web shop actually where ready to ship and available to have within a few days after ordering.

Do not take me wrong. We will jump in line on the backorders just the same but, when planing jobs and such it's nice to know if that little cable needed is actually available or if it will take a month or so to get.
