  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Mother of all Backorder Updates

Just heard REDMOTE will take another month or so.. had my expectations on the first post's date.
It would be nice to have that first post updated, just a thought...
Like the old days ;)

Jarred - I've been waiting for my Canon mount for three and a half months now and still haven't received it. I've been in contact with RED Europe several times and they keep saying they have no idea when I will get my mount. Last I heard from was last night that they would "look into it" and "maybe next week". I ordered on Dec 11 on red.com. Needless to say Im very disappointed.

+1

still waiting eagerly for that one.
at least my Side Handle (ordered mid December) is getting allocated now. :yesnod:

The Titanium Canon mounts are shipping... if you ordered it more than a couple weeks ago you should of already received it :)
Hmm. Great to hear they are shipping, will chase up redeurope. Ordered on the 10th of Feb and not got any word on delivery yet....Maybe I slipped through the net somehow!

Not what I wanted to read. Good to hear things are starting to roll out smoothly in the US, but are we in a separate order queue here in the UK?

second edit:

Not trying to be contentious with that comment, if I was making stuff I'd probably sell it to people nearest to me first, much easier to deal with and fulfil orders than with someone 5,000 miles away.

Anyone know where this updated REDMote info is coming from? If it's true, it's a real bummer.
Thanks,

Jarred,

When can we start sending in our Epic-M for upgrades and liposuction ? I want to send in my 5" LCD at the same time because the loose joint has been driving me crazy lately.

Sorry if this has already been announced.

Brent commented on it in this thread:

"No one has forgotten about M owners here. We are putting finishing touches on the updating program as there are a lot of i's to dot and t's to cross on it. We want to make sure you have as little time as possible without your camera. To ensure that, we have to make sure the process is as dialed in as possible before rollout."

RED EUROPE versus RED USA. Like with any company that has multiple sales locations (subsidiaries, distributors, etc), you are going to have differing inventory levels by location. You stock each location based on what you think demand will be for x period of time. If sales are higher or lower than forecasted, then one location may be in stock in one item while it is not in another due to relative inventory levels. In this case, RED EUROPE had higher than forecasted sales on an item so we would up being out of backorder quicker on shipments from US than RED EUROPE. The reverse has happened in the past on some items. That being said, when we recognize a big delta between locations, our supply chain team will go back to inventory and try to load balance to their best of their ability - and as quickly as they can. Obviously, a lot goes into that analysis and you don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul.

That all being said, a big shipment of Canon mounts hit the docks at REL today and more arrive there next week. We just caught up on Canon backorders shipping from US and REL is right on the heels of that. So, delta recognized, supply chain load balanced, REL is getting more mounts.

An update on the Redmote would be awesome, guessing the dates posted here are unrealistic...?

Being that the Quad Battery Charger shipped nearly 2 months early, could we by chance expect the same from the Pro I/O module?

+1 Please ...

would love an update.

My lord. RED is actually BEATING their estimated schedules.... Maybe the world really is coming to an end :)

heh heh heh

Manufacturing isn't screwing around. They are kicking ass and taking names.

Pro IO. And it likely wont be early like the quad charger :)
