The Gentleman's Underwater Bubble Blower Thread

That is fascinating Johnny. What is your assessment of the threat level posed to divers by these huge animals in those conditions? Tossed high in the air like a seal? Just curious and friendly?

Hello fellow bubble blowers. Please excuse my absence from this forum and really please excuse this bit of shameless self-promotion. Below is a link to a recent trip to the Socorro Islands (Islas Revillagigedos) in Mexico aboard the Solmar V. I had the amazing opportunity to dive and shoot with Rick Rosenthal (BBC Blue Planet and PBS Planet Earth) as well as my dear friend, Berkley White, of Backscatter in Monterrey, CA. Stay tuned for some awesome Dragon footage...
Peace out, Ron

Hey Ron,

Looked like a great trip! I talked to Berk the other day and he seemed impressed with the Dragon. Do you feel the magenta cast is much improved over the MX? I can't wait to see your stuff!

Thanks,

Matt

YES! So much awesomeness there Ron!
That dolphin interaction is unreal. Looked like dream diving!

Rouge Dragon has landed.

A few ways to configure Ross, below a pic of my rig, but if you mean the top rail system, yes, lots of folks opt to go that way as well.

How's things over in Port Douglas? Lots of concern over the Reef and the coal mining interests I hear.

Hey guys,

Don't post here on Reduser often but was hoping to get some help if possible from you knowledgeable folk. I'm going to be shooting in Jamaica from the 1st-6th of June with the NY Jets cheerleaders and would love to source an underwater housing for my Scarlet. Going to be in the Montego Bay through Negril area.

Best,

Abe Espinoza

Hi,

A relatively simple question for those with Epic housings... Who is going below 50m?

Once I go past 50m things feel tight, and past about 55m my controls seize. I'm exploring at 60+ at the moment would be interested to hear what you are all doing.

Using a Nauticam.

I was referring to the electronic control handles. I would be worried about them breaking down in the middle of a shoot. I seemed to remember that was the main problem with the Amphibicam HDCAM version.

Why are you comparing the 20+ year-old Amphibicam to this housing?
