This is something very cool that we have been working on forever.. and it is finally almost ready.

Come see it working in our booth at both IBC and Photokina.

Tethered recording of stills or motion via single cable ( Gig-E ) to laptop / external drive.

very nice ! congrats to all involved.
some people will LOVE this new feature !

few days ago, was talking to a cool guy at SPACE-X... they needed exactly this to use with foolcontrol mac app on remote cameras in some hostile environments !

Super cool. No SSDs needed?

Not really. You are limited in frame rates / REDcode to the speed of Gigabit pipe and most better spinning hard drives can surpass that now.

I know you ware talking about, and I am posting on that thread now, Mikael, hehe.

Wait Mikael you mean this will work with your App as well? I can get video feed through the Gig-E and control the system?

Whoa. Any resolution cap here?

Resolution, no - the above video was shot in 6K : ) . Like Jarred said, framerates and REDCODE are the variables.

Also, at IBC and Photokina, we have a few other new stills features we will be demo'ing on top of the awesomeness that is tethering.

Can you off load the mag through the GIG-E as well? Say we recorded to the mag and then download them off the mag to a tethered system.
