Hello everyone,
This may be a stupid question, but I will ask anyway!
I do not have a touch screen, only a Switchblade-M, with my Scarlet Dragon.
In this case, how to make a black shading?
Thx !
Christophe

You still have to access the maintenance, calibrate, sensor menu, via the controls on the switchblade.

Thank you David, but… I'm afraid I do not understand.
When I'm in the Switchblade menus in the Maintenance section (in Settings), I only have two choices: Save Log and System Satus. That's all…

Switch the mode of your switchblade so you can use the screens menu

Black Shading is not (yet) accessible via switchblade menu (or via RCP menu).
You will need to do enable menu overlay on your video monitor (HDMI or HDSDI out depending on which one you use) and set monitor priority accordingly if needed (all this can be done in MENU > SETTINGS > DISPLAY > MONITOR CONTROL on the switchblade).

Once the menu is visible and enabled on your output you should be able to navigate using arrows / enter keys mode thru the on-screen menu and do the black shading...

As others have said, you cannot start a calibration directly through the menu system on the switchblade. Instead, you need to change the mode of the switchblade to remotely drive the menus on one of the attached monitors.

We are working hard on filling in the missing menu items accessible via RCP and the Switchblade. I don't think you'll ever be able to do things like create a custom overlay layout (on the switchblade), but most everything else should be available in the future.

For everyone, sorry for the french !

Thank you Trent ! There is a solution, an alternative, and that's the important thing.

Can you just give me the way to control the menus on my attached HDSDI screen ?

3rd Party HD-SDI displays cannot control the camera functions due to the HD-SDI signal itself.

Ce ne sera pas Rear LCD mais HDMI.
Tu le passes en mode overlay et tu le mets aussi en haut de la liste de priorité.
ensuite tu dois pouvoir l'utiliser pour naviguer jusqu'au black shading sans problème...

Set your HDSDI monitor to be the control surface:
- Set the HDSDI monitor mode to "Overlay" (on switchblade: Menu > Settings > Display > Monitor Control > Monitor Setup > Brain HDSDI > Mode)
- If you have other monitors attached that are also in "Overlay" mode, move the HDSDI monitor to the top of the Monitor Priority List (Menu > Settings > Display > Monitor Control > Priority)

Now, using the Switchblade press the MODE button, you should see which monitor the camera thinks is the control surface. In this mode, the MENU and navigation buttons on the switchblade now drive the menu on the monitor rather than the Switchblade itself.

Hello Phil,
And HDMI connection? ...

HDMI is also not a camera control interface. Red's displays use proprietary connections to send the monitor signal and to allow for things like touch operation or hot keys.

Camera control can happen via the various controls however (Redmote, Switchblade, even if you have to just the camera brain, or something more wifi oriented like Foolcontrol with supporting hardware).

HD-SDI and HDMI are for monitoring purposes only and can send some additional info, but no camera control.

By the time I got back to this thread many have already mentioned and explained more clearly the correct way to go about it. :)

My understanding is that he is trying to drive the menus on a HDSDI/HDMI monitor using the Switchblade (which, of course, is completely possible).

I just do my black shading via the Switchblade and my monitor. This is perfect!
I can finally see for myself the qualities of my Dragon.
