Glad you got the brain back! Man what a ride. I will throw my 2cents in and say that a few times in my life I've packed a pelican early in the day one day, then wake up and grab it and run out the door the next morning...not knowing that a friend in my shared office space borrowed a few batteries or a lens without letting me know...then forgot to put them back. This was back when the 7D just came out so LP6's were easy to source, but I did show up and go "ummmm, so I DEFINITELY packed these".

I agree that the story isn't very tight, but also weirder things have happened.

Just out of curiosity, did Luc prepay for the shipment and if so I assume he weighed everything right? Also, did he need to provide high value summary? I guess where I see a bit of a hole is when it came to the UPS person who re-packaged and then shipped. Did nothing raise flags based on weight and/or summary if that was provided?

It is seriously fishy. I would advise to check the serial with red anyway.

Not mandatory. But anyone seriously buying a used RED camera should have it sent to them for inspection. Another way to weed out the fake sellers.

If Luc does not start a police case against the person that stole the camera then he could be seen as Luc being culpable in the crime.

If Luc doesn't not even attempt to publicly shame anyone for what seem like a fraudulent transaction 'gone wrong' - I would expect his reputation could get more than 'tarnished'.

Without the incredible generosity and goodwill of someone on this forum, this crime could have ruined Levi.

I'm simply relaying the story that was told to me. And like I said I have lots of thoughts. Also, Luc told me that he would send me $850 to replace the cost of the stolen RED mag. If he does then I think that kinda helps validate, a little bit, his story and the fact that it really happened.

It it is super weird, not disagreeing with ANYONE there. But since the crime/theft didn't happen to me there is nothing I can do. I have my stuff back.

Enjoying it already. Flew it on an all-dqy shoot today with Alex's Raven as well. The thing is a beast and DSMC2 is the berries. Fan noise and high ISO's is the real deal.

As for Luc ... you have all the info I have so ... yeah.
