  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

that is the strange part of the story, not idea why they didn't package it themselves... whole thing read like someone shifting blame, but who knows

probably going to be a pick of a box with the Pelican case not the Raven body

Having UPS pack up your $15,000 camera is totally suspect. And it looks like this Raven might have been a package deal so why didnt he just ship it in the case it came with?
 
I bought a very nice preamp in the early 2000's for a very good price. Like half of what it was worth.
When the package came to me, it had a 20# dumbbell in it instead of the preamp.
I called the guy and lost my cool. The seller was in shock...
Turns out that the UPS driver on his side saw the insurance amount on the bill and sliced open the box, replaced the preamp with the dumbbell and taped it back up. Driver was busted and insurance reimbursed the seller for the full worth, while I was refunded what I paid (after a long investigation). At least someone got paid...

I have tried to not use UPS since.

All this to say, it might not be the seller.

i think his shoot is today so he might be a little busy, but we were talking and i can say that they're getting closer to tracking down where the brain went. I know that's super vague, but I think Levi will have an official update on Monday.
 
Hey everyone - yes, I'm on a super involved shoot until tomorrow night; however, I wanted to give this an update.

RAVEN #000865 IS BACK!


Here's what happened.

As you may know from Luc's FB and online presence, he is a musician who travels a lot in a band, so he's gone from home quite frequently. After I bought the package, he packaged it all up in the case, checked it over and took pics, then closed it and left for a show. When he came back a few days later, he grabbed the case, took it to UPS and shipped it. The guy at UPS opened it up, re-packaged everything (a requirement because of the value of the insurance ($15K) and I know this was required because I talked to the manager at the UPS store who was the one packaging it) and shipped it off.

The UPS guy didn't take it.

Nope, Luc didn't either.

Luc was about to PayPal me $8K back the night he found the brain.

Here's what happened, kids.

While Luc was gone, one of his buddies came over and stole the brain. His buddy then proceeded to scratch the serial number off the brain and try to sell it. He got as far as selling the mag to someone, but the guy who he tried to sell the brain to for $3K happened to know Luc and so told Luc about it and Luc ended up getting the brain back.

Long story. Luc wasn't to blame for taking it so his reputation shouldn't be tarnished on here guys - don't go crucify him. I have my brain, but not my mag so we're still working on getting that back.

Lots of thoughts going on up here right now.

Some crazy story. Glad you got your Raven brain. And glad the Reduser community showed its true colors and supported you on this journey. And glad (if true) Lucs friend got exposed and his reputation is cleared up. Happy shooting!
 
Luc needs to start screening his buddies.
 
This is crazy! I hope you can find the missing mag, glad you got the brain back. What's going to happen to Luc's friend?
 
Glad you got it back. Now take care of that camera! Let me know when you want to do the ownership transfer ( I sold it to Luc), and sorry my Weapon was not available for your shoots, I would have happily sent it your way.
