  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The price is incredible low for a actionproducts stabilizer, as long they are at least 20 into this ap group buy. Check out yourself at David´s Blog.
 
I tested the Action Products "Rapter" at 2011 NAB and it was a very smooth system and i think it will handle Red Epic/Scarlet with a heavy prime lens, wireless FF, and wireless transmitter without any problems.
+1 for Action Products Raptor
 
Whoa!! I go away for one day and everyone goes crazy! I think the PROLine is the way to go for me right now. Unless Action Products can bring the price a little closer to what PROLine is offering, I won't be able to swing it. I urge the PROLine group to stick together and demand a better price from Action Products. A price that could bring Action Products the entire PROLine group.

The prices aren't close. It's in another tier entirely.

Yeah..the arm looks impressive not sure what weight it takes. Not sure about Proline arm..it seems unknown quantity....if someone has red one or a heavy epic scarlet in Hollywood or SF Valley
and is available this week...post here and we can shoot a similar boom range weight test video of the Proline.
It is best to make sure...this is a one-time..one-off thing...no group buy coming 3 months from now.

The Raptor price in this video was 2011 preliminary and believe it actually wound up more in the Zephyr range.
 
Actually, AP's group buy price would be somewhat similar to the 2011 NAB price so there aren't much difference between Proline & AP except Proline's 40+ & 80+ prices.

There's a huge difference in price. We are only interested in PROLine's 40-80 + prices.

What Action Products is offering nothing even close to this price range.

For a group buy the NAB 2011 price doesn't cut it.

We need a better discount than they are offing for a big group.

Agreed. Don't forget this group buy originally started off with us trying to get a better price on a $1500 rig. Paying Xx that amount for a diffeent rig is already a stretch for many of us...
 
I'm still holding my breath for a ~$1250-1500 Laing with red-lemo v-mount at the bottom and sdi/HDMI cable running the length... It's gonna happen...right?

You're in the wrong thread for that rig.

This thread is for the PROLine or L'aigle, and really it's just for the PROLine since over 80% of us have voted for the PROLine.

The Laing already has its own thread. The Raptor can have its own thread if someone wants to start one for it.

There's been enough confusion already and it's getting ridiculous with all of these competing group buys. The people have spoken. Let's close the deal. Unless the Action Products people can offer us a similar deal as the PROLine... then we have something to think about.

As it stands, the Raptor is in an entirely different price bracket than the PROLine. Just like the PROLine is in an entirely different price bracket than the Laing.

Let's stay on topic.

..so Raptor belongs here..if 10 or XX people want Raptor they need that chance.
We got you want Proline..but please allow others to consider all options w/o the noise.

Laing steadicam thread should be labeled LAING but it's present titled

The Raptor hasn't been voted on. There's no place for the Raptor to even be voted on.

Like I said, make a new thread for the Raptor if you want to know how many people want/can afford the Raptor at its current price point .

There's no noise here, I'm trying to cut through all the noise by staying on topic... if you're talking about a stabilizer in another price bracket, you're off topic.

If you want the Raptor, make a new thread for the Raptor and get a group together. This thread is for the PROLine.

Even at AP highest discount, I'd say there's more to be desired, just to echo others, its a similar number as seen on the NAB video, yes things change... but I'm sure they can do better considering the numbers we got in this group buy.

I also say we wait to see what Luciano comes back with (as far as what David stated, with potentially lowering the numbers for the highest discount bracket....)
