  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Steadicam Air

Air 25

Air 25

If there is any issue or problem with your Air please return it to the vendor and it will be replaced immediately. What you described is not correct. It shouldn't be bouncing up and down in a locked state. Something sounds wrong with your unit. It will be replaced. So sorry for your troubles. Francis Kenny, ASC

I’ve forwarded your post to Tiffen. Several hundred are in the field and you’re the first to make me aware of these issues. Send me your info and I’ll have a replacement sent out immediately. I’ll also send you a return label for you to return the pod to Tiffen in order for us to see what happened. Thanks for the feedback. Best, Francis

I have the Air25 and more recently the Air15 and both work flawlessly. I was just yesterday doing some outdoor testing with the Air15 on various surfaces with DSMC2, Sigma Cine Prime lenses, BT matte Box, V-mount adapter and battery and 7" monitor and it worked great. Total weight about 13 lbs. I could get very steady shots and although I did not float up and down while shooting, it was very easy to change height. I got enough extension on the pneumatic with very little adjustment needed in the fixed adjustment portion. The foot was solid on pavement, rocks, even grass with tilting up to 30 degrees. I could pick up the rig by the Air15 (which weighs very little) and move quickly to a different spot, get setup and go. Steve, I hope you are happy with the replacement, I really like it, so simple and easy to setup and use. Very smooth movement. The only issue is keeping the horizon level which takes some practice.

after the frustrating week of trying to get in contact with someone ( I knew RU would get me worked out but I wanted to wait) Francis put the right person in touch with me who confirmed my unit was a first run flaw. Should have a new one tomorrow and will report back, I always hate to take things to a public forum like this but I was getting nothing back from the company trying direct. Thanks Francis, I knew this community would be able to help out, I look forward to the new unit

I'm happy that I was on Reduser this morning and read your post. I've been working long hours on SWAT and I'm rarely on Reduser. Please keep me in the loop regarding your new Air 25. Also, MC4.la has a few new products that are about to be released mid October. I'd like to send them to you. Let me know what you think. Cheers, Francis

Good to know,

I have the same issue on mine which I recently bought from bh
it still bounces 2-3 inch once locked.

If it is an early batch problem, it would be great if they could be tracked down and not sent out to customer.

will bring mine back to bh,

thanks for the input
