I have no idea of the new specs. But, if you measure dynamic range the way Graeme did here http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?p=90299#post90299How much more dynamic range can we expect from the new daughter board BTW? Significant? 1/2 to 1 stop?
then even in theory, it can be at most 0.6 stops better. That's because a 12-bit linear system cannot have more than 12 stops of total dynamic range.
But I wouldn't worry too much about that because in practice, most people also care about the noise level. As good as the Red is, there's still plenty of room for improvement there. Referring again to the post above, you can see that there are several results shown for DNR depending on how much noise you are willing to put up with:
noise level__DNR (both in f-stops)
**________11.4
1.0________11.1
0.5________9.71
0.25_______9.26
0.1________8.05
