Dragon still

Dragon still

pulled this raw shot from a random take from a video I just shot... first thing i've filmed with my Scarlet Dragon.

The Dragon sensor really brings the Scarlet into another whole field. Great shot.

@Suresh -- that nine volts trailer looks great. I love the look. That grade is damn awesome. Care to share how you achieved this look?

@Dean -- The Scarlet MX still amazes me and blows my mind when I see the images coming out of it. Your trailer is another example. Can't believe some people look down on the camera sometimes. Really blows my mind. More info on your shoot please.

hey Christopher, thanks for the love

I wish i could make it more complicated a process but

shoot - 800 iso - red gamma 2 , eos L primes, vari ND and classic soft 77mm screw on filters

lighting 2 light panels and 2 bounce boards

post - native r3d premiere cc work flow bounced to davinci - due to limited time it was corrected and a LUT whacked on the top

I SO SO SO wish i had my dragon with LLO but i still think it looks good considering the lack lighting package

"METAMORPHOSIS" Scarlet with contax zeiss and BPM 1/8th. Shot in two afternoons, just working on shooting some different things, as I work mostly in the ski industry.

Ah man...Brandon... that is pure sex. Wow. Those opening shots... Love it.

Give us some feedback on how you achieved that beautiful look. Grade is awesome!

Thanks Christopher. I worked on this with a friend, he did the editing and I shot the piece. But i do know that he just did some small adjustments in RCX, then any final colors to adjust shadows etc he used colorista. It doesn't look to far off from straight out of the camera, with the contax lenses, the BPM, and the overcast day in Vancouver really helped give it the look it does.

"AWAKENING" Another quick short I did with a friend. Shot in about two hours in Whistler BC. Scarlet with contax 25 and 50 1.4.

Nice pictures everyone. Too many to comment on individually, but thanks for sharing, it's great to see such awesome technology put to such skilled and talented use.

And what the hell, speaking of awesome technology, some more Scarlet-X 5K handheld with the 135mm Tele-Elmar-M -

Love the colours and details, and the way they combine to create or capture an atmosphere or scene.

Cheers Christopher,

Agreed. We've been really happy with what the Scarlet MX has done for us. In love with using FilmConvert with it (and speedgrade). Here's a blog looking at production and post on Absolution.
(Towards the bottom of the blog is some comments and stills talking about/showing the grading process)

"THE RECRUITMENT" full feature from Superproof is now online for free. I spent all last winter filming this movie and I hope you guys can take a chance to check it out. It is mostly shot on my scarlet, with a bunch of the urban skiing shot on a dslr. Thanks

Awesome, gonna load it and watch it when I get back from some meetings. =D

We shot this back in December in William F. White (Winnipeg) warehouse.

Its the 4K teaser and is still in production.

Part of a web series and written for episodal and hopefully a movie.

Rokinon Cine and Tokina 11-16 EF lenses.

No grading to date all REDGAMMA3/REDCOLOR3.
