  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shot on RED - Raven

Why do people put footage on here that is not up to scratch what a waist of time, the colours are dirty - not de-noised or or sharped just mush. Come on people with Ravens if posting make an effort or don't bother. Your worrying people who want to see what the camera can do not what it cannot.

If people are worried because of a "bad" video from RAVEN, then let them. I'd be happy to move up spots in the queue. Most of us know the beauty of the Dragon sensor even without a single test video.

I'm not here to bash anyone who has posted raven footage, I just want to speak from my past experience when buying new cameras. I had a similar feeling of "worry" when I was interested in buying the canon c100 mk1. See, when it first came out, I saw people in vimeo publishing stuff that had me a little worried. Once I got my hands on it, I kept wondering how in the hell they made the footage of the camera look so bad. I just couldn't believe how big of a difference camera footage looks in different hands, so thats all I know. So I'm not worried at all and I'm sticking with raven. Just to give you a perspective here is a short with what most people would now consider a crappy and way worse than the raven the canon t2i.

If you are still worried be honest with yourself and consider cancelling your order, otherwise wait till you get the camera and do your own tests.

Hey, everyone.

New to the forums; and also new to the RED family.

My studio too has a Raven on order - and I'm planning on getting the Scarlet W myself. I recently picked up a Scarlet MX with a filled out package - after an Ursa Mini 4.6K debacle... so I'm anxiously looking for clips from these new cams :-)

On the one video that looks like 60i - clicking on the poster's account - if appears they shoot Real Estate videos and low-end drone stuff; so I hope everyone doesn't take that footage to heart. I'm pretty sure they had no idea how to post process (those lenses may also kill any cam if going for a cinematic look).

Anyway - I for one am optimistic - and am expecting great images. After being a DIT on RED jobs since 2008 (and on one of the 1st Red One features back in the day) - I'm almost never disappointed.

Man... this was beautiful, the way you shoot is fresh, unique and inspiring. Forget the Raven, you deserve a Weapon. Good luck, you have an eye....

My God, so far no one has to tell me when to get the raven.
I wanted to complain, but complaining is useless, I like a slave.

Not you again!
Maybe you missed it due to English clearly being your second language, but in your other stupid thread you started, Jarred informed you, you are no longer getting your Raven. So your waiting for nothing. Complaining IS useless...so stop.
"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone with a bad attitude." That's you dave.

Here's my first go at a camera test. Extremely impressed by the quality, even at 120fps/15:1 compression, it looks great.

You did it right Joe! Great work.
