As we all wait for our Raven's to be allocated, for the lucky ones that receive their Raven's early, please post your work on the "Shot on RED" forum. Many of the Raven purchasers are most likely new to REDUSER (as I am), so please remember to post your work for all of us to enjoy! I would love to see what other Raven users are shooting these days! Thanks in advance.

My God, so far no one has to tell me when to get the raven.
I wanted to complain, but complaining is useless, I like a slave.

You have a pre-order in for RED Raven. Pre-orders opened up in September 2015 and are slowly trickling out at the moment.

Good news is:

Raven, big production ramp starts on Monday, actually. So, bigger allocation notices should be going out as I am packing for NAB...

But just know you are behind a whole lot of people in the allocation queue.

RED is and will be more-so pumping out Ravens in bigger numbers. April is a big month. May too for that matter.

Realistically, you would be looking at June/July. There are so many people ahead of you it isn't even funny. I'm one of the first 24hrs and still haven't received anything. If you need a camera sooner, maybe rent for the shoot?

Good luck!

Take a look at: http://bit.ly/1MnmmqP or http://bit.ly/1Q1nhrs

Just to give perspective to how the cameras are built and tested. No robotic assembly. It's a very human process.

Thats pretty cool, its always reassuring to know how much time and effort goes into these amazing cameras. Contrats to everyone at RED for making an awesome product

Honestly I'm surprised we haven't seen much of any raven or s-w footage, you'd think there'd be some testing going on already from owners with other Red gear to piece together a skeleton kit. Even with the issues with Adobe and fcp, you'd think there'd be more prores clips at least.

This is already the 2nd footage I have seen today which makes me think: hmmm which DSLR has been used for this shot?

I almost agree with you but am hopeful for more impressive footage. At least the S-W footage with the dog at the beach looked real good ^_^

I think the quality for prores looks pretty nice. Have a look at the sharpness of the picture. And don't forget about the possible framerates that you will never get with any DSLR?

Seriously, what is the point of the "test" footage like this? I see these "quick and dirty" tests making rounds online in alarming numbers.
'Quick and dirty' apparently means "I just pushed a record button".

It's absolutely horrible. It doesn't take any more effort to get something semi-decent, regardless of the lighting or the environment.

I can understand, to a point, that somebody would maybe shoot something like this but to actually put it online and share.... Why?

You can literally get any camera to look like crap if you shoot crap. No need to share it with the world.

+1
Yeah, not a good representative footage. In my opinion it looks worse than the gym footage... and you can see shadow noise??? What the fuck... at least tell us what ISO is being used, I would also like to know what lens is being used, cause it looks like a kit lens from a Canon Rebel.
