  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SHOT ON RED Film Festival Submissions Open

Maybe a stupid question to RED but I'm eager to put an "official selection" logo on the poster. Do you have any plans on making those because they would look so cool if they´re "RED-designed"... ;)

After spending 14 hours yesterday in Resolve with Aemilia finessing our grade, it was VERY satisfying to see that Best If Used By had been selected! We happened to meet, by the way, at Reducation. Power of RED, yeah-huh!

:)

Congratulations to the first Shot on RED nominees! Good luck at the screenings :)

Congratulations to all the finalists and those that submitted. Should be an awesome time in December.

Just covering all bases here... if we didn't make it into the finals we are now free to exhibit our work elsewhere, immediately, or do we have to wait until the Shot on Red Festival has closed for this year? Thought I might do a punched up version of Oh CHRISTine! for You Tube or something.

Congrats to the finalist!

Due to the quality and quantity of the short films we have decided to postpone the feature portion of the Festival to early in January, details will be announced soon.

Does this mean that a film wich is longer than 15 min (what you call a feature) will be seen/juged early January?
In Europe +61 minutes is the length that makes a feature.

Just got back from the 1st day. It was EXCELLENT! Great job guys!!

That was a hell of a lot of fun guys. Everything looked so good in 4K. And the shorts were really entertaining. A real privilege to be a part of this evening's happenings. Great to see some familiar faces and meet a few new ones as well. Big ol' smile over here.

Congrats to all the entries that made it to the finals! It's amazing to see everything on the big screen in 4K, there really is no going back now...

Since I wasn't able to make it out I hope there is some pics or video that people can post?

I had also heard some of the films presented were not that "sharp". Did anyone else notice this?

One film played at first in 2K, but that was due to a technical issue. It was replayed at the end at 4K. Everything looked very nice and sharp.

Congratulations to Table 7 Marko Slavnic and Andrew McDonald for the audience award and Le Sniper Yoann Garel for the jury award.

Both were beautifully shoot, Table 7 has a great story and Le Sniper was shoot in one day! Both screened in 4K.

Albert Choi's Departure was screed in 2K and also looked fantastic.
