can we have a sneak peak of what we will possible see in the next Komodo update?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

Is there any possibility of getting the locking RF mount as a paid upgrade on the Komodo even if it was expensive and required a new shell. I’m soooooo damn jealous and a v-raptor isn’t in the budget yet, plus I love my Komodo. Being able to fix that RF wobble would make me so happy lol. The 28-70 is just too heavy.
Though I guess since v-raptor is just the flagship dsmc3 there could always be a komoesque s35 GS version too lol
Any other Questions?
its really cool when you hook up a usb-c ethernet dongle to that port.. and do all of the above remotely, over the network from across the room or across the country.
What are the dimensions of the camera? (LxHxW)
Any other Questions?
When will it be possible to order CFexpress cards from 3rd parties? As I did for Komodo, I planned to order a set of cards through Angelbird directly but I’ve read on their website that they are not compatible with V-Raptor.
Yes, and I imagine RED will be testing more of them as they are released. Specifically Jarred mentioned these newer type 2 cards being ideal for the higher data rates needed.
In an attempt to avoid some of the confusion surrounding media.
Right now V-Raptor uses CFexpress Type B "2.0" Cards. I suspect the 2.0 aspect of that is a new controller that assists in better sustained writes and reads at very high data rates.
Available from RED at the moment are branded Angelbird cards in 660GB and 1.3TB capacities. However, Angelbird seems to also be working on a 2TB card that isn't out yet.
On the Angelbird site they list that these cards have Read Speed 1700 MB/s and Write Speed 1500 MB/s. But as we know that's likely burst data. Thankfully lower on the page they state the most important metric needed for our tools:
"Engineered for proven sustained high-performance with a write speed that will not drop below 1000 MB/s throughout the entire capacity of the card."
That's the actual Sustained Speed. Which means no issues at higher fill capacities with the data rate tailing off.
Very curious to know exactly what the largest capacity that will be available as well as heat related concerns. These buggers run hot to real warm in my experience over the last year. On the same page they list a 4TB card coming down the line. This 2.0 thing is brand spanking new.

Yep. Here's a link to "the right stuff":

Seems like they are going actually with the XT moniker. Currently 330GB, 660GB, and 1.3TB capacities are planned.
I misspoke it seems or they updated the website, but these things apparently handle 1480MB/s sustained write, 1500MB/s read. Not that mere 1000MB/skidding.
The nice thing here is we are now in that "holy crap we need to offload footage fast" realm at least. There are USB Type-C 2x2 20Gbs and even Thunderbolt 3/4 readers (have no clue if those work yet). With the right hardware that's a speedy download I think that's faster than these cards can do actually. Likely 3-4X a Mini-Mag today in realistic terms.
So are these not compatible with the Raptor? i think these were the ones jarred was referencing when i talked to him the other day.

If you follow the link the fine print below clearly says these cards are NOT compatible with the Red Raptor camera. Angelbird has new cards available in a few weeks that the optimum product for Raptor.
Guess I'll standby for a moment here until that settles.
Would rather wait and see at this point.
