  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet's World Premiere... (BTS Video from SF)

Sure, they can post anything they want and they have every right to have fun. But the title of this post and of the video is 'Scarlet's World Premiere' and we hardly get to see a close-up of the camera. No menu's, no controls, no in and outs, no footage. At least give it a different name then.

on the tile I could agree with you that a different name could have been chosen and if Joseph fills that at the end He wants to change
that or keep it its entirely his choice not mine, either way I support what He does and how He does it!!

Yeah we do what we want, but never forget that we are doing it for you guys to share with... ;)

Hahaha, this made me laugh me ass off. I am sorry, I really am, but I thought you should know that.

The right people got the first cameras. If you are upset about not being in that group, I am sure everyone feels deeply heart-broken for you now.

Looking forward to those Scarlet samples, and thanks for the BTS Joseph! Keep them coming please.
 
Awe, I think some folks are getting a little jealous. I know I am:)

Look forward to seeing some of the footage - particularly the skateboard scene.

One question, you say this camera is ergonomically perfect; I must say it doesn't look like it is to me, in fact I can't think of any small camera that is. Can you say a little about why you feel it is so good to hold?

I agree with Liam. I am jealous too. I am especially looking forward to the skateboarder scene. And Scarlet looks easy to shoot with, but if there is something that might be ergonomically perfect about that size it would have to be more along the lines of an Aaton A-Minima (though Scarlet is significantly smaller and I bet also lighter, and I bet it resolves more detail than S16, and a horde of other benefits with next to zero downsides in comparison).

The reason that I fill SCARLET is ergonomically perfect for me, is because coming form using DSLR and Medium Format cameras,
the bodies do not allow for anything to be mounted on the camera to make your shooting a perfect fit, with SCARLET as well as with EPIC I can,
as I can put any type of handles or accessories I want to make it so.

It is not just about the Body design, and or the side grip handle, its about how I can build the entire system in many different ways to fit each individual need per each individual shoot.

This is what I meant by Ergonomically Perfect... ;)
 
VERY good point. Ketch is right.

We sometimes forget that Scarlet isn't designed to mount on your shoulder like a cat, but designed to offer a stupefying number of options. It is a cross between a transformer and a lego kit, and a film camera, and a supercomputer. You will be able to get it low and balanced on your shoulder, and you will be able to easily do everything else you can dream up.

What framerate did you shoot Scarlet from the helicopter. Im sure the footage coming out later when its been approved. I actually enjoyed seen people from the forum move and speak for a change from stillpictures. Maby the title was little misleading. Does the Scarlet feel ready? or is it missing alot of features that is not engaged yet?

Please post more Scarlet bts, its making the wait for Scarlet footage more fun!
 
Like everyone here, I WANT to see some footage.
I'm watching Walking Dead (episode 3, the series just came out in France) which seems (according to IMDB) to have been shot on Super 16mm cameras (Arri's) exept for some VFX shots that have been made with 35mm... Well, if Scarlet can give me that same image quality at 3K.... Or even downscalled to 1080P... It would be worth the wait !

So let me get this straight, NONE of that footage is from the Epic or Scarlet? How can you have the "cojones" to call this thread Scarlet's World Premiere?

Sure. We're ALL waiting for real world footage from various operators (beginners & confirmed professionals). But maybe RED wants to approve any footage from a prototype cam ? Did you sign a NDA ?

Moderate your tone of voice (or writing) when you are referring yourself to my self and or any one that has something to do directly with my self.

Last I checked I NEVER once offended and or out of context attacked any one and I demand the same respect from any one here, or else were, that means you included, Jose.

Re-fraise your words, and if sound more like a suggestion instead of an insult to some one that has been putting ton of effort in bringing you BTS footage and pictures,
then could be taken a bit better.

Again the title choice is of Joseph and his alone, s the creator of the Videos, if He fills to change the title He will, till then be nice...
