Wow thanks Phil for posting this. I was really looking at the Tokina lens before, but now it seems like a must buy. I really love wide lenses.

That's all I got today. Testing out brands of ND/IRND on Epic next week. Did a bit of testing last week and as I've mentioned in another thread I'll likely be purchasing the Schneider Platinum IRNDs when they are available. For the time being I've purchased some Formatts. Looking at the Tiffens next week and testing out the Formatts and Schneiders.
Bob, I really like that Nikon but what are you doing for filtering the 14-24mm? (since you can't use screw ons)
This past August I used it on a month long project on the Sony F3, but it has built in ND, so we were able to us the lens in full sun...we did use a 90 & 45 degree shutter alot on the film though. I havent tested the lens with a matte box, I'd be surprised if it would work.
What is your solution?
Thanks!
I'm also getting the Tokina. Is there a difference between the Canon and Nikon versions? Which one do you guys prefer?
I've owned both, on the nikon 11-16 the default aperture is closed when lens is detached, canon is open when detached
canon 11-16 the aperture is purely electronic , the nikon aperture is controlled by a little lever
this pic shows an m43 adapter actuating the lever on an 11-16 LINK
other than that they are identical.

Thanks. Sounds like I will go with the Nikon, I hate relying on electronic aperture...
Just so there is no confusion, Both Nikon and Canon versions have the aperture controlled electronically on this lens. Neither version has a manual iris control. Because Nikons have a physical pin on the back, it is possible to use a 3rd party adapter to adjust iris.
Ouch, that stinks... Thanks for making me aware. I will have to go with the Canon version then. The Duclos would be nice but it's just too expensive.
The optitek Nikon mount will allow smooth Iris control of your Nikon lens.
