  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W has Begun...

Cross reference all of that with Brain production.

So Brain's can go out at a slow and steadi clip but packages are waiting on a 2-3 week backlog of parts to be called complete. (at least thats what it looks like from the outside.)

I know it's hard. I'm waiting (not always patiently) too. My bank is looking at me like I don't have my ducks in a row. In the end... we wont remember. Two years from now you will struggle to remember what week you got it.

thats strange and must just not be accurate, because ive ordered the 4.7 and the expander the day they were released just incase, and neither have shipped and that was like months ago at least.

I'm two hours behind you guys (September 25, 2015 02:18), this waiting game is excruciating. But I'm hoping the more excruciating the wait, the sweeter the arrival!

Has anyone here received a Scarlet-W notification in the last week? It seems like after the initial blasts in late Feb / early March, it's gone a bit quiet (at least in terms of those using this forum). Perhaps it was to ensure the first Raven orders went out on time? Hopefully this is just the calm before the storm.

Or the initial shipments was to be able to say "we started shipping on time!"

Hopefully we hear a bit more soon. I'm sure they are working their asses off. Hopefully they understand that our impatience is just excitement to get our hands on these cameras!
 
i would love to get my hands on the camera, mainly to figure out all my rigs, i was really hoping for an allocation on march 17th as i ordered in the first 12 minutes, but… the fact i cant shoot and edit any footage or use it on a real production yet, my patience has grown and just waiting to see how all this pans out. im be kinda mad if i had a scarlet-w for a month and couldnt shoot on it.

You can, you just have to run it through RedCine-X first. There's already a dog video in the Scarlet thread. But anyway they have just a week left in March to get all the pre-Dec 10 scarlet orders out, and I'm skeptical. I'm definitely impatient too since I ordered 35 minutes after the announcement on Dec 10 and initially thought it would ship mid-Feb since the deposit didn't say anything about Raven switchers at the time. I have a few personal projects that people are probably going to be disappointed on next month :/

did they say they would get every scarlet preorder out before the end of this month???
i think they said all the raven preorders that switched over. there are 1000's that ordered raven way back in sept…
they havent even got the first raven package out yet!
im biased because im a raven order, but i really think those should take priority since we ordered 3 months earlier.
 
Am I alone in wishing I didn't have to scour through posts constantly to find out where things stand with shipments and product availability and/or new product announcements? On one hand I love the fact that there is a lot of communication going on between users as well as Red staff and execs. It's really a great thing to have that much community effort. On the other hand, I find myself spending an inordinate amount of time trying to revisit forums and figure out what I've missed. There's just so much information and questions being hurled out in any given thread, and important information gets swallowed up by the sheer volume of comments flowing through.

It would be great if there were some general reference table (not message thread) that indicated what time stamp is currently being served for the the various models and/or accessories, what accessories are planned for the future, and any compatibility concerns or firmware updates in the works.

Just wanted to throw that out there. The Red community is great, but I am always in a state of feeling that I've missed something that was important to know.
 
I doubt that will happen, however take comfort in the fact that you have a whole community here who checks in on a very regular basis who can help. Don't forget you can always post new threads with questions
 
Can also just search Jarred and Brent posts. Don't have to read through whole threads to just see if any official update/news has been shared.

Well on the flip-side, people like me just didn't want the Raven and waited patiently for the Scarlet-W announcement. So to have waited for the announcement and then be told "Oh, we know you waited and got an order in right away... but all these guys get to budge." is kind of a bummer. Technically the order you placed 3 months earlier was for a totally different camera, so it's not like you've been waiting for the Scarlet-W longer.

And in the original announcement, there was no mention of Raven priority and it simply says "Scarlet-W packages ship in March." The whole "We'll get the Raven packages shipped out in March" thing didn't start until a couple weeks ago.

Agreed! Very much looking forward to joining the RED family and hope it's only a matter of a week or two before that happens. I was hoping to start up a Scarlet-W queue thread so we can keep track of allocations (like they have for the Raven) but i'm unable to start a new thread. Willing to help out if anyone wants and is able to start one though.

Wow. Going to be cutting it really close for the "end of the month" estimation for Raven switchers I'd say.

and there has been only a few ravens, and no raven packages…again hopefully today.
 
I just noticed that Weapon MG's are in stock.

So hopefully with most of the upgrades dine Scarlet W 's will pick up a lot.
