  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet update in mid-May

Agreed. Besides, I'd rather Red take their time and make enough Scarlets for launch, cause they'll sell like iPads. Well, maybe not iPads, but still. The fixed Scarlet is going to be huge. Those features at that pricepoint will blow everything else out of the water, even if they release it two years from now. I don't think they'll take that long though. Exciting times are ahead indeed...
 
Sigh! It's June and no Scarlet news...
Someone know why Red work in this strange way? No news, no website updates. It's like if all is blocked at the last year... I signed one years ago for newsletters and I never received anything... Someone hear me there, guy?

I agree.

I understand RED does things differently and in the end I will wait for the Scarlet and BUY IT no matter when it comes because I truly believe it will be an amazing product.

But having said that, I still don't quite understand these vague updates that never really materialize until much later and the unorganized way of sharing information on a forum where you have to hunt for the answer. The not so user friendly red website with its image pages also is bizarre in today's Internet world.

But whatever, if I have to deal with this strange way of sharing information to get my hands on a great product, then I will do it.

I recommend using the RSS feed from the RECON section. That's what I use in Mail.app to know when new announcements are made.

Thanks for the suggestion Rick... A "News" page was better but now I simply go to Red site every 30 minutes from 6 months and hoping to find the lovely Scarlet! Just many bitter tears and struggle... :-)

Still *feels* too soon, considering where I think the progress is right now. Of course we're all hoping for sooner, much sooner.

Anyone familiar with the 80/20 rule of development knows where I'm coming from. You can develop 80% of the product functionality in 20% of the total development time. Developing the remaining 20% of functionality takes 80% of the total development time.

If we're just now getting to the 80% of functionality (which I don't think we are), then we still have about 80% of the total time to completion to go yet.

Unless the 80/20 rule is a bunch of BS. In my experience, it can be so true.

Yeah, I am doing the same thing.

Everyday I am hoping that there is a new thread about the amazing news about the Scarlet video camera that will change the world, create world peace and plug the damn oil leak.
