  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cirque - live show

Breathtaking...

Breathtaking...

Albert, a million thanks for posting this. The fusion of Cirque Nouveau and Cinema is, to me, the most exquisite and highest form of art. I have anxiously been looking forward to seeing this take place with RED, and although it was only a matter of time before this perfect synthesis was born, I did not expect it would happen so soon.

And what a way to inaugurate this unique blend of visual disciplines... with nothing less than Cirque Éloize's special performance of Caramuse... Is this also a Daniele Finzi Pasca production?

Gorgeous images, Albert. Simply stunning! I can't wait to see final result.

Cheers!

Fabián

Oh yeah! Amazing look, great shots. Well done!

Tell me, did the raw footage look good or did you really have to work it? Any noise issues?

Cheers

Albert,

great footage.

Maybe soon with f/1.2 or even f/0.95 fast still lenses could get better a low light shots.

Look great. Will be curious to see a bigger version with less compression.. Do you have some still from the master video?

Albert,

Great clip! Thanks for posting

What lens did you use? How many cameras & what type of post work-flow!

Dave

Albert,
This is great work. Please give us more technical details.

Very nice footage. Since this was all shot with just two REDs, would love to hear details on frame rates & shutter speeds, particularly with regard to how you mixed realtime footage with slo mo footage.

Beautiful footage. It looks like you had more than 2 cameras, or maybe shot 2 shows. Would like to hear the technical details as well.

Thank you all !
I'll try to answer the questions
We have used zeiss zf: 50, and my beloved 85.
Also I covered the full show with the cooke 20-100 T3.1
I love this lens but it was not fast enough for the amount of light I had.

We covered 2 shows; one after another. The first one was "learning"
This was just one time event, so we had no idea what and how to film.
80% of the footage is from the second one.
The cooke footage is the one from the right angle/ high contrast and darker.
The more I use this lens the more I fall in love with it.
I'll post some stills latter on tonight.
Since the cooke is f2.8 I shot it wide open, 23.98 at 4K
The slow motion was done with Zeiss Zf (wide open most of the time) in 3K at 60fps 120 shutter speed.
We shot on Red drives; the show was only 45min long.
I pulled the focus manually (no FF) Perhaps this is where I actually apreciate shorter focus throw on photo lenses.

Fabian, it was not Daniele's creation; however, he was present at the show.

Thanks again for encouragement, now back to editing.

Cheers

WoW!
