  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

December 1st is the "real" shipping day for Scarlet, Today is just when we begin shipping the advance orders that purchased the PL mount option as promised... that will continue thru the 1st of December, and give us a bit of time to work out some of the new process and procedures with ordering that may take some getting used to so that when the 1st comes around things should go smoothly.

So will you be shipping as many of the PL mounted Scarlet's as you can before the 1st?

That is the plan.. we have a nice production ramp-up plan to get us from now to the 1st, when things really start heating up :)

Does that plan include shipping out the first few hundred cams on Dec 1st?

(keeping my fingers crossed since it looks like my Scarlet is somewhere in the first 200 or so)

Reading that FAQ I only have one question. It says that you will not be contacted by RED but to talk to your rep. I assume that I will be contacted at some point by a rep of some sort? I have yet to receive anything except the initial "thank you for your order" email so I want to make sure I don't have to do anything else until I hear from a rep.

Brent said "No" IF the card you used to place the deposit goes through fine for the remainder of the charges. If it doesn't, they will contact you to collect the rest of the funds.

Good luck! You'll be shipping Canon and PL mount Scarlets as of Dec. 1st then, no last minute hold ups with Canon mount I hope?

Dare I ask for an update on the Nikon mount? The Ti Nikon mount was scheduled for 'full production in December' according to the last I heard... the 'Module Ship Dates' thread, but that was back in September!

Is there a cheaper alloy Nikon mount for Scarlet to go alongside the Canon alloy mount? I'm not sure that question was every answered?

And, finally (since I know you're all taking it real easy and have Copious Free Time at the moment) is there posted anywhere a definitive list of lenses that are currently characterized in the Canon mount software, and a similar list for will be in the Nikon mount software as of first shipping on that mount?

Did I enter a time warp? What the hell is going on around here?? Scarlets are shipping early? You guys aat RED are INSANE!

All you first timers need to COOL OFF THAT SCARLET FEVER Baby... give RED a chance and you will not find better customer service in any industry. ANYWHERE>

I know (in the ral world) that the presumption is "Oh no, something;s wrong, Im getting fucked!! , help!"

BUT this is RED BABY... take a chill pill. if they actually make a mistake, in my 3 year experience, nobody works harder to make it right than Brent and TEAM RED.

TRUST em when they say trust em.. and these guys will kill themselves for you... take a deep breath and TRUST they will make it right... cool? cool.
